Today’s posts features all the little nicknacks I picked up over the past couple of weeks. This is why this post features a bit of everything: fashion, beauty and media. I went on a bit on a ‘dress’ kick this month: I bought 4 dresses and I’m eyeballing two more on the H&M website. I love buying dresses this time of year! They simply have the best selection on offer around Christmas time. Also, remember my current obsessions of November? If not, then you have missed the most amazing pants on the planet and they are featured below. On top of that I bought some new Lush products, some stuff from The Body Shop and the drugstore AND I added a few items to my DVD and CD collection. So I’d say: stay tuned if you’re looking for the perfect Christmas dress, a new shampoo or a movie you may want to see.
Black tulle skater dress with ‘lights’ print (H&M)
I found my Christmas dress! I absolutely love this. It’s black so perfect for now, but I think the print definitely adds a bit of spark to it. I bought a similar looking dress in taupe last year. This one is pretty much the same, but with a different color and print, but the tulle on this dress is a bit more coarse.
Cream & black bow print skater dress with mesh detail (Asos)
The minute I saw this on the Asos website, I knew I had to have it. The print is super cute and a bit different from my usual polka dot preference. I also love the detail: the peter pan style collar and cut out in the sleeves are lined with a black mesh fabric making the dress both cute and edgy. It also came with the belt.
Green baroque/ paisley print trousers (ZARA)
Finally! I saw these pants on my shopping trip in Utrecht, but at the time decided against them. I couldn’t stop thinking about them though, so when I found a pair in my size in The Hague I immediately scooped them up. They are super comfy as they are stretchy and made of a fairly soft material. You can still find them on the ZARA website where they are called the printed cashmere pants.
Black velvet skater dress (New Look)
I’ve been loving the velvet trend and I tried on quite a few items but never found one that looked good on me. This dress is made of a very soft black material has a low cut neckline in the front and the back and three quarter length sleeves.
Green lace & pleated skater dress (Asos)
I simply love bright colored dresses and green is hands down my favorite color. The back of this dress is all lace and the skirt is super pleated. Since this gathers at the waist it looks great on too. I already spotted a very similar dress in bright blue at H&M but I haven’t decided yet whether I want to get it.
I also bought some beauty products! I bought two shampoos from Lush: Daddy-O and squeaky green solid shampoo bar. I was using an Andrelon shampoo but that gave me an itchy scalp so I decided to try some Lush shampoo as I hadn’t tried it yet. I will write a review once I’ve gotten a decent amount of usage out of it.
Secondly I bought a face wash and a day creme by Biodermal. Since my skin is so sensitive I am always on the look out to find my holy grail product for my face. I was at the drugstore anyway and they had a discount on Biodermal products and I remembered reading positive things on some beauty blogs and decided to give it a go. I picked up the cleansing foam mousse and the day creme for dehydrated and sensitive skin.
By now The Body Shop has had their Christmas products out for a while as well and I had not yet given them a whiff. I bought two shower gels: Vanilla Bliss and Ginger Sparkle and also took home the body lotion from the Vineyard Peach line as well as a coconut hair oil from the Rainforest line. I had a good experience using the Rainforest shampoo and conditioner and I am hoping this will be a great product too.
Lastly I picked up some nail care products. I usually use the home brand nail oil and nail strengthener from Etos, but now I went with Kruidvat brand ones. Here’s to hoping they work as nicely as the Etos ones.
DVDs: Tropic Thunder, Burlesque, Cosmopolis.
CDs: Breaking Dawn Part 2 Soundtrack, Marcus Foster The Last House EP
Last but not least I picked up a few DVDs and CDs from Amazon. I already saw all three movies, but I liked all of them enough to buy them on DVD. Tropic Thunder and Burlesque were cheap too. I think they only cost 3 pounds apiece. As for the CDs: I bought the soundtrack since I already own the other 4 and I was curious to hear what new music Marcus Foster released on his new EP.
Nothing too crazy this time, but still a nice shoplog nonetheless.
