LOTD: Preppy green & lavender

As promised in yesterday’s post: a complete outfit with the green polka dot pussybow dress. I decided to throw in the make up look I’m wearing for the heck of it. For the outfit I wanted to do something that is not too matchy matchy, but would still look good together. It actually started with the shoes. I bought these 6 months ago in the H&M summer sale, but I had simply not attempted to wear them yet. To my surprise they were very comfy. I wore them all day on Tuesday. The dress has this great retro vibe to it. To me it totally channels a Mad Men vibe. The make up is bright but simple. Curious about all the details? Then keep on reading.

Let’s get started with the make up look. To create this look, I used my Inglot eyeshadow palette. I wrote about that in an earlier post, so if you’d like to see pictures of it, then click here. I used the white shade (Pearl 453), the two lavender shades on the left bottom row (Matte 388 & Pearl 429), the matte grey shade (Matte 239) and the purple (Matte 334). I am wearing a neutral blush and nothing on my lips but some lipbalm. This colder weather is not suited for wearing lipsticks.

Products used:

Face: MAC Face & Body foundation in C1, MAC Select Moisture Cover concealer in NW20 (mixed with Benefit Highbeam), MAC Prep & Prime Transparent pressed finishing powder.

Blush: Benefit Dandelion face powder

Brows: MAC eyeshadow in Omega, HEMA brow gel

Eyes: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, MAC Dark Diversion fluidline eyeliner, Maybelline One by One mascara

Inglot eyeshadows: white Pearl 453, dark lavender (Matte 388), shimmery lavender (Pearl 429), grey in crease (Matte 239) and purple (Matte 334)

Lips: Rosebud Salve in Menthol and Eucalyptus

Can you tell how puffy my eyes are? Pfff I’ve been so tired these days and yesterday I was glad to have made the decision to not go anywhere except for some grocery shopping. Luckily for me, Christmas break is almost hear and I can’t wait for that to start. Alright, enough blahdiblah. On to the outfit!

The dress totally makes this outfit in my opinion. Otherwise it would be quite drab and boring. The pattern and the cut definitely give the outfit that bit extra. I’ve included a picture without the sweater on to give you all a good idea of how the dress actually fits. I personally love this type of cut. I added a belt that matches my tights to tie it all together a bit more. The dress is shortish, but nothing too crazy and I’ve kept everything else quite simple as well.

What I’m wearing:

– green polka dot & pussybow dress (Monki)

– forest green knit cardigan (ZARA)

– opaque black tights (Primark)

– brown block heeled shoes with ankle strap (H&M)

– necklace (birthday present from my mom)

– black patent belt (came with a different dress)

And that’s it! I deliberately chose a green cardigan rather than a black one, because that I thought too boring. I’m curious to find out what you think of this outfit, so let me know in a comment below! Thanks for reading.

  1. op zich leuk, maar het had je mooier gestaan als de jurk op de knie of net er overheen viel en met een huidskleurige panty.
