September favorites (2013)

One month gone already… I can hardly believe it. It seems only yesterday that I sat down and wrote my August favorites post. Yet, here we are and I have a few things that I have been loving this past month.

1. Reading

I’ve been turning myself into a downright bookworm these past few weeks. By the time I get home I am too tired to be staring at a screen again, so instead I’ve been snuggling up on the couch with books and magazines. I just finished reading the book you see here (written by J.K Rowling under a pseudonym) and also devoured a few others in the mean time. I will be writing a book post some time in the weeks to come to inform you of what I have been reading.

2. Decubal day cream

I have been meaning to write a review of this fantastic face cream for ages. I never got round to it though, so instead I’ve decided to add it to this month’s favorites. The cream has a thick whipped cream like texture, is quick to be absorbed by the skin despite that and has yet to give me an allergic reaction after over 6 months of usage. Oh and a little goes a long way with this. After using it for months I still have about half a jar left.

3. Chelsea Boots

Even though these babies hurt my feet after a long day at work, they are still my favorite shoes of the moment. These boots literally go with anything and I’ve been pairing them with dresses skirts and pants. In other words: I’ve been wearing them non-stop. And that is a rare thing for me to happen as I have so many shoes that I usually don’t wear the same pair for weeks.

4. Coco Mademoiselle perfume

I know, I know. I featured a perfume in my previous monthly favorites that I had just purchased. But at a 25% discount and a gift voucher that I had lying about I simply couldn’t pass this one up. I bought the 50 ML bottle this time and I love it’s initially fresh clean smell which then transforms into something more warm and sensual.

5. Comfy pants

Fall = comfy pants time! At least for me. In summer long sweatpants are simply a no-go, but now that the weather is getting chillier I love changing into a pair after work. It’s the reason why I have so many: from proper sweatpants to pajama bottoms. Featured on this picture are a burgundy pair of sweats from H&M, Adidas sports’ leggings (super comfy!) & Primark carebear pajama bottoms.

6. Tea

Hot summer months are the only time of the year that I refrain from drinking tea. I opt for water instead. But now, with my new found reading bug firmly in place I love relaxing with a cup of tea again. My current favorites? Twinings Butter Mint Sensation and Pukka Organic Green Chai tea. The first really does taste a bit like butter as it is very creamy and a little sweet too. The second is more spicy and warming: especially nice when the rain comes pouring down.

7. Aussie Frizz Miracle conditioner

I have been experimenting quite a bit with different shampoos and conditioners and this is the latest trial. The packaging boasts blue bum leaves as an ingredient and the product that comes out of this bottle is a thick and creamy blue-ish conditioner. It smells, like most Aussie products, a bit sweet, like candy, but the smell isn’t too bad. It conditions my hair really well I feel and my hair has definitely been less frizzy as a result from using this.

8. Vampire Weekend – Everlasting Arms

This is a bit of a cheat entry, as it hasn’t been a favorite this month, but ever since I bought Vampire Weekend’s latest album, Modern Vampires of the City. I’ve been loving that album for months now and I don’t think I featured any of their amazing songs on here yet. This song is by far my favorite and it is a happy, chipper kind of tune which instantly lifts my mood. And that is something that I have definitely been craving lately.

Leuk!!
