30 Day Make Up Challenge: #1 Nude

My friend Karin from Meerbeauty.nl embarked on the 30 day make up challenge when she first started her blog. She had so much fun doing it that she recommended I do it too. And I figured that wouldn’t be a bad idea. Much like her, I will not be posting 30 solid days of make up looks. Instead, I will do one whenever I fancy, but I will stick to the schedule as provided by the challenge. You can see this schedule below, as well as my interpretation of the first topic of the challenge: Nude.

As you can see there are looks that require different colors, random themes and inspiration taken from almost anywhere. The challenge focuses mainly on eye looks, but I will include a full face whenever I can. I think it is a nice chance for me to experiment with different looks and techniques. Let’s have a look at the first one.

I’m quite happy with the eye look. Not so much with the combination with the lipstick. I would never pair a neutral eye look with a neutral lip in real life and I think it looks quite funny. Later this week, I will show you what lipstick color I would wear with it, so if this isn’t your cup of tea: just stay tuned!

Since this look was supposed to be nude, I went with a more sculpted look, while accentuating those parts of my eye to make it all look a bit more put together. The eye look consists of mainly matte shades, with just some highlighting in the inner corner. You can read below which colors I’ve used. The lower lashline is bare. That is something I like doing regularly. I find it makes for a more effortless look and applying mascara on only my upper lashes opens up my tiny almond shaped eyes more and creates more of a doll eye look.

  2. […] The only blush I own from MAC’s regular collection. And quite possibly my most worn MAC blush. Because this color is always right. With heavy looks, light looks, for nude looks: this blush will go with anything under the sun. If there is a ‘my cheeks but better’ blush shade than this is mine. I got this on my very first visit to MAC when I was still exploring the line and not knowing what they had. And I’m still happy with this purchase till this day. You can see it on my face in this blog post. […]
