10 bright high end lipsticks

Apart from red, I love me some brights on the lips. Especially for spring and summer, I love to amp up a simple look with a bright pink or a fiery coral. In this post I’ve lumped those two together. These lipsticks are probably some of my favorites and most coveted ones in my collection. Some of these were limited edition, or simply such great colors that I would recommend to have almost all of these in your collection. Needless to say, these high end lipsticks also come with a higher price tag, which makes them all the more special. I remember purchasing each one of them and why!

The collection: can you spot the mistake?

Chanel Rouge Coco no. 54 Le Baiser

The very first lipstick is also one of my favorites. This is a very wearable, yet bright pink. The Rouge Coco texture is pleasant, not too dry and slightly moisturizing. Doesn’t last too long on the lips tough, but does wear off nicely.

Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in no. 42 L’éclatante

If you want the ultimate luxury treat, buying yourself a Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet definitely falls into that category. This texture is much more longwearing, and the color a muted hot pink. It’s brighter and a tad more in your face than the one above. Perfect spring color.

YSL Rouge pur Couture in no. 49 Tropical Pink

On to one of the more daring colors in the collection: a blue-toned neon pink. This YSL lipstick was one of my first high end lipstick buys and I still don’t regret it. It’s very much in your face and definitely not for the faint of heart, but I don’t mind getting stared at when I wear this out and about. You’ll be able to see me wear this lipstick in a look very soon.

Dior Diorific longwearing lipstick in 024 Corail Hip Hop/ Coral hip hop

My first Dior lipstick is a reddish toned coral. I don’t really wear it that often, but now that I have swatched it again it has reminded me that I should. This is from Dior’s longlasting lipstick line, which comes in not too many interesting colors, but a few of them are well worth it.

Clinique Colour Surge Butter Shine lipstick in 414 Fresh Watermelon

The most moisturizing lipstick I think I have is this one by Clinique. I’ve had it for quite some time and used to wear it all the time. Because of the moisturizing effect, this only lasts about 1 – 2 hours on your lips thought, which is why I don’t reach for it that much anymore. But I love the name and I have happy memories attached to this as I bought it in NYC on one of my trips.

Sensai lasting treatment rouge in LT12 Sakura Kasane

I bought this because I didn’t own a soft pink lipstick yet and wanted one to layer underneath sheerer colors, for a more opaque effect. This is again a very creamy lipstick. It lasts a tad longer than the Clinique one, but not much longer. I do really love this sweet rosy pink color that still has a bit of brightness to it. It may look like a nude or neutral lipstick on this swatch, but when I put it with my other neutral lipsticks, this simply is too bright to go into category.

MAC Amplified in Watch Me Simmer

There are two lipsticks which I take out every spring/ summer season since I’ve had them and it’s my two MAC Amplified lipsticks (you can find the other one below). The finish is semi-matte, the colors are boom in your face and the lasting power is great. Watch Me Simmer is a great pinky coral with a hint of neon in the mix. I believe this was limited edition.

MAC Amplified in Impassioned

My other Amplified lipstick is Impassioned. This is a bright blue toned pink with a hint of raspberry in it. When I first tried this on in the store, the make up artist who was helping me was amazed at how good this looked on. I took a mirror to have a look at it outside and knew that this lipstick was made for me. It’s one of my favorite lipsticks in my entire collection.

Lancome Rouge in Love long lasting lipstick in 381 B Violette Coquette

As scary as this looks in the tube, that’s how wearable this baby actually is. The color is definitely not for everyone: it’s a purple toned pink with a subtle blue sheen. Since my lips are well pigmented on their own, my natural lip color throws in a hue that mixes very well with this. The color becomes a bit warmer on my lips and it makes for a great summer/ fall transition color.

Lancome Color Fever lasting radiance sensual lip colour in 102 Electro Flash Orange

The last lipstick I have to show you is this pink toned orange, or neon coral color by Lancome. I fell in love with this lipstick when I bought it and was surprised at how nice it looked on. This was my very first bright lipstick ever, which is why it’s so special to me. I don’t wear it as much anymore, because despite it being fairly long-lasting, it doesn’t wear very nicely. I always end up with a bright colored rim, while the center of my lips are wiped clean. It makes for messy touch ups and is too much of a hassle most of the time.

What is your favorite bright lipstick?
