10 must have summer dresses

As a continuation of last week’s Summer Lookbook post, I will be showing you 10 of my favorite summer dresses. These dresses are especially must haves when temperatures rise and all you want is the easiest, breeziest outfit possible. I just realized these aren’t the most colorful dresses I own, but still, on a hot day I would go for one of these dresses in a heartbeat. There are some fun prints, different textures, as well as some flowy dresses that keep you cool in scorching heat.

Checkered smock dress (The White Pepper via Asos)

A great dress to wear in hot weather is a smock dress. It’s not tight on and looks very cute and girly nonetheless. Especially when you get it in a fun print, smock dresses can be very flattering yet still keep you cool.

Tropical print dress (Forever 21)

A tropical print screams summer. I’m still on the hunt for a lighter colored palm tree print dress, but this one will do in the mean time (I’ve been eyeing up this one). Featuring purple flowers, palm trees and pineapples, this dress couldn’t get more tropical. The fit is a loose fit and flare style and I love the back, which has a button closure and a zip.

Taupe t-shirt dress (H&M)

On hot days, all you sometimes want to do is throw something one and just let it be done. You’re most likely lounging at the beach or the park anyway. And that’s what this dress is for. Made of a t-shirt material this is easy to wear and comfortable.

Bohemian style bib front dress (H&M)

In spring & summer I like a bit of boho style. It’s not exactly my thing, but I like certain element from the style and I think this dress is a nice compromise between boho and girly. It’s a fit and flare skater style dress with a lacy bib front detail. The flowy chiffon skirt makes for the perfect easy breezy outfit. Plus this goes great with pair of tan sandals.

Black studded high low dress (New Yorker)

Another flowy skirt style is a high low dress. These were all the rage a few years ago, but I think you can still wear these. You may not think of wearing black in summer, but it’s a color that is suitable year round if you ask me. This studded dress combines the tough with the girly and is great for late night drinks on hot summer days.

Neon pink tank dress (H&M)

I featured this dress in last week’s Lookbook, so scroll down if you want to see this on. It’s not the most flattering dress, but who cannot love a bright neon pink dress? Plus it has pockets! How awesome is that? And I bought it on sale for €7. Even better.

Beige floral print dress with lace waist band (H&M)

Quite possibly my favorite summer dress is this beige number. It has a muted floral print and a bit of a lace detail which I like. It’s straight. It’s simple. It works.

Dark floral print dress with spaghetti straps (Forever 21)

Another floral dress. This time with spaghetti straps. I just love florals for summer. This darker floral has yellows and reds which I love and the spaghetti straps makes it perfect for hot summer days.

Beige daisy print skater dress (Forever 21)

A light colored jersey material dress with daisy print = comfy & cute in one go. All I need to do is throw on some flats, put my hair in a bun and sport a cute pair of sunnies and I’m out the door. You just can’t go wrong with these simple style skater dresses.

Black dress with lace details & chord (H&M)

Lastly this dress which looks like a bag. It comes with a chord so you can singe in your waist, which is a good thing. The other good thing about this dress? Because of its loose fit it hides any bumps and lumps you may want to hide and the crochet/ lace detail at the top keep this dress from getting too boring.

What’s your favorite summer dress?
