Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil 2-in-1 brow filling pencil & brush

Brows are the part of my make up routine I like to spend the least amount of time on. I like the natural shape of my brows so other than filling in a few gaps here and there, I don’t feel like I need too much extra. When it comes to brow products I wasn’t very adventurous for years. I used MAC’s Omega eyeshadow religiously, but then I found other, cheaper alternatives at the drugstore. When I found out that Soap & Glory do a good twist up pencil, much like the Anastasia Brow Wiz, for half the price, I knew I wanted to try it. I picked one up in October when I was in London and loved it so much that I stocked up on it when I was in England again this past May. Time for a review!

Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil 2-in-1 brow filling pencil & brush in Blondeshell

Soap & Glory is a UK skin- & bodycare brand that you can find at the drugstore. I believe its Boots that sells this brand more so than Superdrug. They are best known for their scrubs, body butters and hand creams, but at selected stores you can also find their make up range. I don’t find the make up line too inspiring, but there are a few products they do that caught my eye and that I wanted to try out. This brow pencil being one of them. For a drugstore brand Soap & Glory falls into the higher end of the specter: this pencil costs 8 pounds.

This pencil is available in two shades: Blondeshell for blondes and Hot Chocolate for brunettes. Since I’m a blonde I bought the Blondeshell version of this product. Soap & Glory also do a brow pencil and tint version of this product. They look very similar in the packaging, so I got confused when at first I could only find that version. I ended up picking one up regardless so I can try that too. However, they have two similar looking products that cost the same amount of money.

Soap & Glory packaging is one major selling point for the brand. Each make up product they sell comes in a cute, pink box, and very often loud with lots of slogans and text. Their bath products also have a bit of a retro feel to it and most of them smell amazing and they are easier to get a hold of than the make up.

So if you’re ever in Boots, then make sure to check that out as well, even if you can’t find the make up. For the brow pencil the packaging simply states the name of the color, has the logo printed onto one end and has the name of the product on it as well as a picture of what it looks like. So make sure you check that packaging when you go looking for these.

What Soap & Glory has to say:

Introducing our super skinny, retractable, 2-in-1 brow filling pencil & brush. Giving you maximum control – while taking up minimum space in your makeup case – it shapes, defines and leaves a thicker, fuller, natural finish. Ideal for ladies who’d describe themselves as distinctly ‘no brow’ (or for anyone after a little more WOW).

A natural, but thicker, fuller finish that is easy to handle for a quick and easy brow. You should be able to use this to draw on hairs if you have little to no brows going on, but it should also be handy for filling in if you think your brow simply need a little bit more help. Let’s have a look!

There are instructions on the box on how to use these. The spooly on one end is a handy tool as it allows you to brush your brows and fill them in with the same product. It saves a step in your make up routine.

The ingredients are:

INGREDIENTS: Mica, Hydrogenated Soyabean Oil, Hydrogenated Coco-Glycerides, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, Zinc Stearate, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Stearic Acid, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Tocopheryl , Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Hexylene Glycol, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77492 (Iron Oxides), CI 77499 (Iron Oxides), CI 77491 (Iron Oxides)

The spooly is thin and just the right size to fit my brows nicely. It combs through them easily and I like how it gives a bit of shape to them first and then allows you to go through your brows again to take away any harsh lines. This is definitely a 2-in-1 product.

Another plus to this product is the tiny, tiny nib of the product. I was afraid it might break easily and that I would lose half the product before I could even finish it up, but that never happened. The product may be skinny and I dropped this plenty of times, but never did it break on me.

The nib is small and fine which allows you to make small strokes if need be. Of course it does wear off on one side so I find you do have to turn this around a few times to get the right effect. On the swatch the shade looks a little orange, but in my brows I love how this product looks.

Top: natural brows
Bottom: filled in brows with Soap & Glory pencil

As you can see the color is a tad lighter, than my natural brow hairs, but if I fill in my brows with that color it looks to stark combined with my natural blonde hair. This pencil allows me to reach all the hard to get to places in my brows: from the front that is especially sparse to the tail end that also needs a little bit of extra help to even them out. The brush allows me to tame my bushy brows so they look a lot nicer and neater.

Full face

Yes, the Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil is a new holy grail in my make up routine. Hence, I picked up three of these when I was last in England. I am currently trying out the Maybelline Brow Drama pencil and I like that, but not as much as this. This nib is smaller and much more precise. It is also a better color match for me and the spooly on the end is a major game changer. If you can, pick up this brow product as it will change the way you do your brows.

  1. […] This is the first slim line brow pencil Catrice has released and it is part of their new spring/ summer 2017 launch. It is available in three different shades, of which I own the lightest shade. The retail price is €2.99 and boasts having a very fine nib that should allow you to create a precisely filled in brow. Will this product be as good as my favorite Soap & Glory Archery 2-in-1 brow pencil? […]

  2. […] Soap & Glory Archery Brow pencil – Thin nibbed eyebrow pencils were first introduced by Anastasia and other higher end brands. While the shade range of Soap & Glory is limited, I have found no need to even look into the more expensive versions of this. This retails for half the price and gets the job done as nicely. […]

  3. […] Soap & Glory Archery Brow Pencil – My favorite brow pencil of all time is this one by Soap & Glory. I have since discovered the NYX Microbrow which I also love and is easier to get a hold of, but I am traveling to London later this month and I am looking forward to picking up one or two new ones of these. […]

  4. […] Soap & Glory Archer brow pencil – In terms of old favorites this is another firm favorite to add to that list. In fact, I used this up the day I took this picture and this is the fourth one of these pencils that I have used up. Such a shame you can only get this abroad, but if you have a store selling Soap & Glory makeup near you, then I highly recommend checking out this pencil. […]
