Travel plans

It is summer and that just so happens to be my favorite time of the year to travel. I already spent some time in London a little earlier in the year, which you might have read about here. But there are some more plans for the remainder of the year, starting with my summer vacation which had its official kick off yesterday. Here’s what I plan on doing.

2016 travel plans

For the first few days of this vacation I have very few plans. I’m just having a few medical check up and then there is one more day where I have to go into work to round up some last minute loose ends. Then I think I’ll just chill. I want to go to Ikea to get some bits and bobs and just watch tons of Netflix and hopefully to get ahead a bit of the blogging schedule. I don’t want to spend every waking minute of my vacation writing blog posts and recording videos so I’m hoping to get ahead this week so I can truly have a vacation for the next 3 weeks.

What happens next is that my good friend Alison will be coming over. She last visited me 3 years ago I’d say and I visited her last year. We’ll probably be doing some day trips across Holland and Belgium and just do some general sightseeing. So the first half of the vacation will be me playing tourist in my own country. I will round off that week with a launch of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. Me and a friend are hoping to visit one of the bookstores that have a special event surrounding the 8th Harry Potter installment.

Shortly after that I will be hopping on a plane and visit Budapest for a few days. I decided against a longer, big trip like I did last year. You know, the one where I saw Kelly Clarkson in New York, held an alligator in Miami, went to a chocolate factory in Seattle, saw Orca in Vancouver, and had a makeover at Sephora in Chicago. That one! I choose to have three smaller trips this year rather than one big one. And my second trip this year will be Budapest. I’m curious what that city will be like as I’ve never been there before. Any tips you have for Budapest: leave them in a comment below!

Last but not least, I hope to be booking a trip to Rome some time this week. I won’t be going there until the fall, but that is the third trip I had in mind for this year. Another place I’ve never been to. There will be a few other trips and just overall fun times coming up once I return from Budapest. I am slated to at least visit the Harry Potter expo in Brussels and there’s one maybe two festivals involved as well.

In between the madness, I hope to replenish my database of blog pictures so I can get ahead of schedule that way and have some blog posts ready to go. I have gathered so many ideas for blog posts over the past few weeks, there are literally hundreds of ideas pending. I can’t wait to put them into action and start snapping away so I have some great new content coming your way.

Where will your summer vacation take you this year?

  1. Ik ben net terug van Boedapest! Ik ben van plan er nog een artikel over te schrijven, dus ik ga daar zeker wat tips geven. Je moet zeker gaan eten bij Menza! Het was echt een hele mooie stad!
