Current favorites (August 2016)

I completely missed out on July’s and June’s monthly favorites, because life simply got in the way. When push came to shove, I couldn’t think of enough items to show you that I was loving. I decided to wait until I had enough things I was loving to do an article for you. So that’s what we are doing today. I hope you enjoy!

A selection of what I’ve been loving lately.
Some items were too big to fit into one shot.

As per usual, my favorites are completely random. There are some beauty products I’ve been loving, some make up, some fashion bits as well as some miscellaneous items. I even have a new food favorite for you!

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cleanser

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cleanser

I already featured this in another favorites post, but this facial cleanser is an absolute dream. I still haven’t gotten round to reviewing it though, so while we await that blog post, I figured I could feature it in one of my favorites.

Urban Outfitters Black cardigan

Urban Outfitters Black cardigan

I’ve said it before and I will keep saying it: Urban Outfitters does cardigans like nobody else. I picked up two last May when I was in London and this is one of them. I had gotten rid of one of my long drapy black cardigans as the quality was a bit iffy. But now I have this one and if it is as good as my other UO cardigans it will hold up a long time.

Catrice Enter Wonderland Highlighting Powder

Catrice Enter Wonderland Highlighting Powder

After rediscovering this highlighter while making the Brand Bites video on Catrice, I’ve now been using this highlight a ton. It is not too intense, but a great every day shade. It has just enough glow to give you that healthy, glow from within look, without going overboard.

Vivera plantbased meat replacements

Vivera plantbased meat replacements

I am still not vegetarian or vegan by any means, but I do like to keep the amount of meat I eat to a minimum. I have recently discovered these 100% plant based products in the meat replacement aisle. One is a falafel which means chickpea balls and on the left you can see burgers made of pumpkin and sweet potato. These barely contain any wheat (a problem with many meat replacements) and no additional sweeteners too. I am loving these when I need a quick bite to eat.

Bite lipstick in Rhubarb Milani Amore MATTallics liquid lipsticks

When it comes to lips there are so many new products I’m trying out. But two stand outs for me lately have been my newly purchased Bite Amuse Bouche lipsticks. Rhubarb especially is a wearable color and one of my favorites. The Milani liquid lipsticks are super new to me, but I’ve swatched them and wore one or two on my lips for a full day so far and I have to say: I am impressed.

Forever 21 nude shorts

Forever 21 nude shorts

On to the most unappealing item in the bunch. This pair of nude shorts has been a life saver to me. A) It is highwaisted. B) It is nude. C) It only cost €3. It’s all that I’ve been wearing whenever I wear a dress or a skirt lately. Keeps things nice and covered without weird panty lines showing up.

Make Up Revolution Flawless Matte 2 Updated MAC eyeshadow palette

Updated MAC eyeshadow palette

In eyeshadow I’ve been digging palettes mostly (what else is new?). The MUR Flawless Matte 2 was a surprise love for me since I wasn’t a huge fan of their original Flawless palette. But this has got to be one of my favorite MUR purchases. And I love myself a bit of MAC. A few weeks ago, I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade to their newer palette. I talked to you all about it in this blog post.

Harry Potter Signature Hardcover collection

Harry Potter Signature Hardcover collection

My birthday present to myself. How could I not include this? By now you should know I’m a complete Potterhead and I got myself the hardcover boxed set as a birthday present. Because this is the type of thing you’d otherwise just not buy. I now am the proud owner of a complete Harry Potter shelf on my bookshelves.

Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer ELF Baked blush Rich rose

ELF Baked blush Rich rose

A product so many have already raved about is the Urban Decay Naked Skin concealer. It was sold out all the time I went looking for it and then suddenly they had my shade in stock. I bought it, I tried it, I loved it. Will have to put up a review on this very very soon. And another product that is very deserving of a review is this baked blush by ELF. This shade looks like nothing in the pan, but on the cheeks it is one of my favorite summer blush shades.

Plants: succulents & cactus

Plants: succulents & cactus

I’ve been going a bit ham about new plants lately. I already purchased one last April which I love and have managed to keep alive so far. Lately I’ve added these six to the mix. Most of them are cacti and I have two succulents. One I bought at the supermarket (of all places!) in the taupe pot. The little cluster of cacti in the brown pot is from a store called Xenos. The cacti in the white pots are from Ikea and the other two were gifted by a friend. She had shoots from some of her plants and she gave them to me for my birthday.

The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream 01

The Body Shop Tea Tree BB Cream 01

If there is one product I cannot get enough of, it’s this Tea Tree BB Cream by The Body Shop. I reviewed it a few weeks ago and it’s been such a great summer base. I’ve already heard others have bought this and loved it too. So if you haven’t yet tried it: go out and get it because it’s an absolute dream of a product.

H&M floaty shorts

With warmer weather come shorts and I am not really into jeans shorts this year. Instead, I’ve gotten these floaty shorts from H&M. They are super comfy, lightweight and breezy. They have been perfect for those hot summer days.

These are my current favorites. What are yours?
