Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks: Lovesick, Double Dare, A-Go-Go

Kat Von D makes some amazing make up products and after loving the two Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks I purchased at Sephora last year, I knew I wanted to try some more. So when I placed a Sephora order earlier this year, I decided to add some to my cart. Where I picked up a vampy and coral the first time round, this time I opted for 2 neutrals and a bright orange.

One of the best pros for the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks is the shade range. This lipstick range is one of the best when it comes to available colors. From a super pale pink to a matte black and anything in between: this line of lipsticks has a color for everyone. At $20 a pop they are on the higher end of the price point spectrum, but for a product that works well I am willing to pay that amount of money.

Because when a lipstick already comes in such a stunning box, how could you say no?! I know I can’t. The boxes are a stylish black with an intricate floral design printed across it. The name of the product is embossed in silver tattoo lettering across the box. Each box has a colorful sticker on the top that corresponds to the shade in the box, which makes it easy to pick these out when you’re in the store.

The packaging of the lipsticks themselves is as sleek. The tubes are fairly long and are again adorned with a design similar to that of the box. I don’t know about you, but just the look of these lipsticks already make it worth half the price point. I like how you can easily see the shades through the tube: this makes it easy to find which color you are selecting when you are doing your make up.

My choice came down to three very different shades from last time. This time I had time to do some research and went with shades that are generally reviewed as being some of the best performing shades in the range.

Lovesick is a muted dusty rose with a cool, almost purple/ lilac undertone. Double Dare is a neutral with a reddish brown, almost terracotta feel to it. A-Go-Go is a bright punch of true orange that I first spotted on Viviannadoesmakeup (now TheAnnaEdit).

The wand of the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks is quite long. This takes some getting used to in the application process, but I find it not too bothersome. I quite like the size of the wand as I feel it allows me to be more precise. Despite the length, it still gives you enough control to get a very even and precise application.

These liquid lipsticks are equipped with a narrow and quite small doe foot applicator. One this that is very noticeable is the fact that there isn’t too much product on the wand. This makes it easy not to overload your lips with product and apply a thin, even layer much more easily. The doe foot applicator is precise and if tilted to the side easy enough to make a nice sharp lip line.

Texture wise these lipsticks start off quite wet. The texture isn’t as moussy as some other liquid lipsticks. This leads to an easy application and a very comfortable wearing lipstick. Out of all liquid lipsticks I find this little to not drying at all on the lips, while staying power is great. They won’t last through a meal with lots of oils and fats, but it will definitely last throughout a normal workday, including the drinks and meals that come along with that time span.

Lovesick

Lovesick was a shade I already spotted in the States, but it was one that sold out quickly and by the time I had decided I wanted to try some, this shade was no longer available. Since it had come back in stock, I decided to pick it up this time round. It is a very sweet, pale pink shade that reminds me a lot of MAC’s Pink Plaid which I used to be obsessed with. This is a great shade to pair with a smokey eye.

Double Dare

A lot deeper and darker is Double Dare. It is still a neutral that has a hint of reddish brown to it. This is what makes this shade very wearable. It is not too brown, nor too red, nor too neutral. I find this one of the more unique shades of lipstick I own and one that also makes for a great every day one. Highly recommend!

A-Go-Go

Finally, I also picked up A-Go-Go. This shade is not for the faint of heart. Instead, this is definitely not a shade to pull out if you are not used to wearing bold lip colors. Orange is a difficult shade to pull off for most people, but I was glad to see how brightening this is. This is such a fun color for spring/ summer.

In conclusion I can say that these Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks lived up to my expectations. In fact, they outshone them. This set was even better than Beloved and Vampira which I already owned. Double Dare has got to be my favorite, but A-Go-Go was on my lips quite a bit this summer as well.

  1. […] Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Double Dare – When it comes to high end liquid lipsticks, Kat Von D were my favorites. The line is inconsistent: not every shade is as good and so it does mean you have to choose wisely. Double Dare is my favorite shade: it is a nude, but with a brown/ red undertone. It is incredibly flattering on and one of the best liquid lipsticks from the line. […]

  2. […] Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick A Go Go – I know, I know. So many people have cancelled Kat Von D for her personal opinions and beliefs, but I believe I should enjoy the products I have if I like them. And A Go Go is one of the most unique lipstick shades in my collection. This is a true, bright orange and I have nothing like it. This dries down matte and works best when paired with a very understated look. This lipstick will definitely steal the show. […]
