What I’ve been up to #9

I just recently figured that it was about time to update you on what I’ve been up to these past few weeks. Well, let’s make that months shall we? Just before my summer vacation life was very very busy and so I didn’t take too many pictures and after that I also just spend a lot of time on my couch to rekindle my Netflix addiction. Still, I thought it would be a good idea to show you what I’ve been up to recently. Here it goes!

And we’re starting this blog post with an outfit that I wore to game night with friends. There ended up being less board game playing than predicted as the group of people who showed up was a bit too large for playing games, but we had fun nonetheless.

To treat myself for rounding off the buying-the-house process, I decided to buy myself a pair of espadrilles. I didn’t own any yet and I had spotted these and tried them on twice already. So I knew these had to happen. And yes, the house is now pretty much a reality. All I need is to get my key and that’s it!

I sorted through my nail polish collection yet again. I love sorting things. Especially when I stressed I get a very weird sense of achievement just by reorganizing some of my belongings. My OPI collection is one that befalls this procedure quite a bit.

I visited my niece Jill again in May! This is me, make up less as it was a free Sunday. She’s getting so big so quickly.

For my birthday, my mom treated me to a high tea. We went to Van der Leur a local bar/ lunch/ restaurant place and it was really really good. We got some soup as a starter, some bread, some sweet things and of course lots and lots of tea.

In June, I visited Best Kept Secret and I had a blast. I took this picture on the last day while waiting for Radiohead to start. They weren’t as on point as the other times I saw them live, but I had a blast with friends, lots of sun and lots of great music.

I did lots more reading as well these past few months. In fact, for a while there, I got 2 books ahead of my reading goal. This book certainly helped. I just love the Peter Grant series by Ben Aaronovitch.

One of the final days of work before summer break we have an outing with colleagues and we always get a choice of activities. We spent the day in Rotterdam and toured a food market that involved some blind beer tasting. Don’t I look dashing in my tea towel?

And these were the beers we tested. The food market only sells local produce and also the beer is brewed locally.

For lunch we went to this Middle Eastern food place. We had some Tapas and then went for the beer tasting. A good combination.

I knew Lord of Shadows had been published, so I couldn’t help but to take a trip to my local bookstore. And of course I couldn’t help but also buy a few other book that piqued my interest.

I finally got to wear my suede pink loafers. They are super cute but I’m afraid to get them dirty. So I am only wearing them on nice days and there haven’t been too many lately.

I wore this outfit while shopping with my mom. I loved the sporty look with the joggers and the blazer that I felt I had the capture the moment after trying on some clothes at H&M.

At the start of summer vacation I sorted through heaps of stuff. I think it’s good to get rid of any added baggage that you feel you won’t need when you move house. So that’s what I did.
