Tarte Amazonian Clay blush Seduce

The Tarte Amazonian Clay blushes are infamous for being some of the best blushes on the market. I already owned one in Achiote: a soft coral shade that is perfect for spring/ summer but that no longer seems to be available. Since I loved the formula so much, I decided to also buy a more muted and everyday option from the line. This was my pick.

These blushes retail for $29 from Sephora in the US, but Tarte is also available via their own website and in some countries via QVC. Tarte blushes are notorious not only because of their fame, but also for their wear time and lasting power. When they say 14 hour wear time, they mean it. While I have no issue with blush not staying on my cheeks, this is a great option if you want to be sure your face makeup lasts all day.

The Packaging

Tarte blush comes in a simple compact. The outerpackaging is nothing but a plastic sleeve that is transparent: nothing much to write home about. With this, it is all about the product. You do get a decent sized mirror in the lid, which I appreciate.

The Product

Seduce is described as a rosy nude and I am all about that shade this time of year. It’s very similar to Benefit Dandelion or MAC AT Dusk: two of my all time favorites. Basically, these murky looking blushes that don’t look like it will do anything are some of my favorites to wear. If you have fair skin like me, than these will be best for you.

The Swatch

Apart from their wear time, Tarte blushes are notorious for their bad swatches. This looks like nothing on my arm. The product feels dry and stiff and nearly impossible for a brush to pick up any product from. There is hardly any color payoff with a finger swatch: I really have to get in there and build this up.

For blush however, that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. You don’t want to over blush your cheeks and I find it very difficult to do that with Tarte blushes. These are actually great for those of us with a bit of a heavy hand: you can get in there and slap it on and it will never be too much.

The Application

On the cheeks you can definitely see the difference between my before with just some bronzer and highlight and the after with the blush added into the mix. It is a very natural blush shade on my complexion and as I mentioned, it is difficult to overdo it. Right now, as we are nearing the dead of winter and my skin is at its palest, it is this type of shade that I love wearing the most. It allows me to wear blush without going overboard.

The Conclusion

Seduce by Tarte is a great blush and has a great formula that wears well throughout the day. The only problem is that I have several blushes with a similar color, which is why I don’t reach for this too much. Now that I am writing this review, I am reminded of how good this blush is and am ready to slap it onto my face yet again. However, if there isn’t a color in this range that appeals to you or is not your absolute must have than I don’t think Tarte blushes are worth going out on a limb for. Unless your blush fades on you very quickly, then these are definitely worth a shot, but for me personally this doesn’t really add anything new to my collection.

  1. […] Tarte Amazonian Clay blush Seduce – Seduce is one I wear year round, but I love it especially in the winter time. It is one of those neutral shades that is quite non-descript in the pan, but it looks so nice on the face. This is the only warm toned blush in the selection, which is something I like to do if I want to wear a warmer toned makeup look that day. […]
