Time for a montly recurring post: Shop My Stash. In this blog post I take you through my full face of makeup favorites that I reached for most during a given month. It’s a way for me to not only show you what I’m using, but also a way to challenge myself to use more diverse products, and to take you on that journey as I try makeup and adapt it to my seasonal and daily needs. Today, I’m taking your through my December 2017 makeup bag. shop my stash december 2017shop my stash december 2017

Shop my stash | December 2017

Since it’s all about the makeup I reached for the most in a given month, my shop my stashes will feature mostly neutral/ everyday makeup. I do my makeup mostly for work and when I’m going places. Since I work in education, my looks are full on, but I always keep it natural. So well-blended foundation, neutral face colors and a pop either on the eye or the lips. This month I tried a new eyeshadow palette, which was very leading for the makeup look I did overall. More about the palette next Saturday. For now, let’s have a look what I wore most on my face in December.

ELF Hydrating primer – Starting with the first step in my makeup and it’s no different from last month’s face primer. It’s the ELF Hydrating Primer which I have been loving as a base underneath my makeup. I hope to review it for your shortly.

Milani eyeshadow primer – Another repeat and this will take some time to switch up. I typically use up eyeshadow primer before moving on to another one. If you would like to know why this has become a staple for my makeup look, please read this review.

NYX Microbrow pencil & L’Oreal Brow Tint – Last month I wrote my Essence Make Me Brow was about to run out and it did. So I dived into my stash and picked out a brow gel I had been looking to try. So far, I’m liking it and that NYX brow pencil has been serving me very well.

Maybelline Superstay 24 H Full Coverage Foundation – A new month means a new foundation. I change foundations regularly. I like a different look and coverage depending on how tired I am, the weather and what I am up to that time period. Since my skin needed a pick me up after the move in November, I was loving the It Cosmetics CC Cream that month. But then the drugstore launched 3 new foundations in a very short time span. I tried the Maybelline Superstay most and wore it all day to my work’s Christmas party and it stayed put very well. I reviewed it here.

Bobbi Brown Corrector & Kat Von D Concealer – It’s still winter, which means my dark circles are still loud and proud. In fact, in December they were extra terrible as I was running on fumes for the last couple of weeks before Christmas break. And then an added corrector is a great addition to your makeup routine. Still loving that Kat Von D Concealer and again something I have to review soon.

Bobbi Brown Pressed Powder – Another product I like to use up before moving on to a new one is face powder. So this will be around for some time to come. You only need a little and especially now my skin is much drier, I only use this sparingly.

Physician’s Formula Butter Bronzer – A cult favorite! And what a fine bronzer this is! I love the shade, the blendability and it’s a great winter time bronzer for me. Full review can be found here.

Tarte Amazonian Clay blush Seduce – Winter time means dusty rose blushes in my case and this one was my favorite last month. As winter progresses, the shades differ a little bit, but not much. But this was what I reached for daily in December. That is why I also finally got round to posting a review on it.

Catrice Highlighting Powder Stardust – Another affordable product that I have been using this month is the Catrice Highlighting Powder in Stardust. This icy highlight is one of my favorites and I nearly decluttered it because I didn’t have space in my stash anymore. Glad I decided to keep it in the end. You can see it more closely in this blog post.

MAC Painterly Paint Pot & TBS Eyeshadow – Another repeat and a combination I am working very conciously on to use up. The eyeshadow is my favorite for setting the lid and the paint pot is getting old and I want to use it up before it expires.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar eyeshadow palette – I have been going palette crazy lately and I have been going through them one by one. The first I tried is a product many people rave about that I had been dying to try. The full review will be up next Saturday.

L’Oreal Paradise Extatic Mascara & Maybelline Classic Volume Waterproof Mascara – My mascara ran out, so I decided to try quite possibly THE mascara of 2017. L’Oreal Lash Paradise was the talk of the town last spring and it finally launched here during the fall under a different name. And so far I’ve been loving it!

MAC Satin Lipstick in Brave – Where November was all about that berry lip, this month I went more with a nude. MAC’s Brave is one of my favorites and one I reach for a lot to begin with. But this month it really stood out. I wore a lot of smokey eyes for the festive month and then a more natural lip is a great way to go.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray – Another repeat, but I don’t really have any other setting sprays, so I don’t have many options to try. And because I like this one a lot, I have no interest in trying anything new just yet.

What did you wear this month?

  1. Starting to do a “use it or lose it” project where I do bi weekly baskets of products I need to use. If I don’t use them STILL in the two weeks I will be rehoming them or letting them go in the bin. I have rediscovered some great products this way, So this post is inspiring to me. ❤️

Love the butter bronzer as well, the smell makes me feel like I’m on vacation. I also just discovered the IT cosmetics CC cream and it’s been amazing! I was disappointed in the lash paradise mascara though, it does nothing for me at all!

      • You’re already worlds ahead of me. I did do a small clutter but I didn’t find it too daunting. I only got rid of things that I KNOW i don’t use and have to stop promising myself that I will. Because I just won’t
