Announcement: August Palette Month

Step right up! Step right up! I have some exciting news for you. Well, I think it is exciting news, but I hope you do too. Since it is summer and since I love eyeshadow palettes, I thought I would combine those two and devote all of the month of August to eyeshadow palettes. All of the content going up this month will be eyeshadow palette related. Which means: every day will feature a review or a video on eyeshadow palettes. I know I am excited, I hope you are excited too!august eyeshadow palette month

August Palette Month

So the reasons why I wanted to do this are multifold, so I figured I would kick off the month with a bit of an explanation so you know what to expect and why I want to do this.

Reason no. 1 – I love eyeshadow palettes. If you saw my makeup collection video, then you will have seen that I have two drawers devoted to all things eyes, one and half of which is taken up by eyeshadow palettes. I love buying and trying eyeshadow palettes and I love rotating them out every week to see what I can come up with. If there is one part of my makeup collection that grows the quickest, it is this part. And I wanted to indulge in my own obsession for a minute and I hope you like it too.

Reason no. 2 – It is summer. Summer time means a slow time on blogs and so if I were to do any sort of themed month I think that this would be the best time. It is simply the best time of the year to experiment with content. If there is one thing I learned from when I interned as a journalist, it is that summer time is the time of the year to throw things to the wall and see what sticks. And if it is successful, i.e. if you guys like it, I might consider doing another themed month next summer and perhaps you can do suggestions on what you would like to see me do. So let me know in a comment below!

Reason no. 3 – I had a lot of backlogged reviews. My to-review pile of palettes had been stacking up for some time and loads more new palettes came out and were added too. So I figured that a great way to slice the pile down quickly is if I would devote a certain amount of time on my blog to doing nothing but eyeshadow palette reviews. But I thought that might be boring, so I decided to break things up as well and still do videos in which I talk about eyeshadow palettes, but that aren’t review based.

So that is why I would like to do this content right now, but what can you expect. All blog posts going live will contain eyeshadow palette reviews. I have decided to make it a mix of high end and drugstore of neutral and colorful of older and newer palettes. I am well aware that some of the reviews coming up are on palettes you can no longer get. However, I still love the palettes and still want to share.

On Thursday and Sunday there will be videos and those will focus on my favorite palettes in different categories as well as an indepth view into my entire eyeshadow palette collection. For the collection I have decided to split it into several videos as I simply have too many if I want to say something about each palette. So I have divided it up into a few brand specific videos and then one giant eyeshadow palette collection as a grand finale.

I hope you will enjoy the month of August as much as I do!
Which palettes do you hope I will review?

  1. I have unhealthy obsession for eyeshadow palette so I am looking forward to your posts, I would love to see a review on the Fenty Beauty Moroccan palette, idk if you own it but I am just curious to know!!

  2. How exciting! I don’t know what came over me but I’ve collected a few palettes in July – mostly ones I found for great prices. I even bought the ABH Subculture. I half expected it to crumble as soon as I open the box but I found myself pleasantly surprised by it – the product performed fine and I had no blending issues. Go figure.
I spy Juvia’s Place palettes in your photos – I hope they make it into your August reviews! 🙂

    • I am hearing more and more people say they actually like Subculture. Now I want to try it. My bank account will cry a little when I finally cave. And yes, there will be a Juvia’s Place review coming up!
