Catrice new lipsticks fall 2018

Glossy lips are in! And while I am not a fan, I know that many people like these sheer glossy lip colors for everyday. Catrice is smart to be playing into the trends as they usually do and have released several new products that work well. Additionally, they have launched new shades of existing lines and today I am reviewing three new Catrie lip products for you.

These three products are quite different and that means different price points. The Volumizing Lip Balm is €4.59. The Lip Booster is slightly less expensive at €3.59. The Conditioning Lip Butter falls right in the middle at €3.99. All three of these products are balmy, glossy and most importantly: sheer.

Volumizing Lip Balm 030 Wonder-full Lips

Catrice’s Volumizing Lip Balm is one of the products that already existed in the line. Previously it was only available in a few shades, but it has now been released in 6 shades in total. Some of those shades are more colorful, but seeing this is a lip balm, I wanted it to be a my-lips-but-better kind of shade. I don’t feel this truly volumizes, but it does feel very comfortable and balmy on the lips.

Volumizing Lip Booster 060 Please Date Me Ken!

Another product that already existed is the Volumizing Lip Booster. Again, it existed in three shades and has been brought out in three more. Please Date Me Ken is one of those new shades. I thought it was interesting as it looks quite sparkly and thus could be a great topper if it shows up well. This is far more volumizing than the previous product: it tingles a lot more and I notice a little bit of plumping.

Dewy-ful Lips Conditioning Lip Butter 020 Let’s Dew This!

The newest product is Dewy-ful Lips Lip Butter which was released in four different shades. This definitely is a lip butter, which isn’t my favorite. I don’t like how they slide around and they disappear too quickly. It does give a nice comfortable feel and it has a nice glow to it that makes your lips look very healthy. I am not a big fan of the scent: this smells like cake batter.

The Swatch

In the swatches you can clearly see the different textures of the three lip products. The Volumizing Lip Balm is very light weight and you barely notice it is on. It may be a nice product to put on before doing makeup as it is moisturizing yet a subtly plumping too. The Lip Booster is very much like a gloss, but it is not as glittery and sparkly as I had hoped. It mainly looks like a clear gloss. Finally, the Lip Butter which has the most color pay off, yet still a nice healthy shine. It is a bit more peachy than I had hoped, but it still is a nice, everyday shade.

The Application

Applied to the lips, you can see that these don’t look that different on. If you didn’t know this review was on three different lip products, you probably wouldn’t have been able to tell. The balm is at the top, then the lip butter, followed by the lip booster to add a bit of gloss. All together they make for a pretty everyday lip, but this isn’t what I like to wear. My preference? A matte lipstick that lasts all day.

The Conclusion

All three of the new Catrice lip products for fall 2018 are great products if they are your cup of tea. The Lip Balm is balmy and has a slight tingle. The Lip Booster has a nice plump and a great high shine finish. The Lip Butter has a very subtle color which is great for a look to wear to the office or any other occasion that does not allow you to wear that much on your lips. They are not necessarily my favorite lipsticks ever, but if you like this sort of thing then I am sure you will enjoy these. They just aren’t for me.
