How I wear tea dresses

In terms of dresses, I love a skater or fit and flare dress. But a few years ago I discovered tea dresses and they became an instant favorite. Tea dresses are a type of dress intended for day time wear and leave middle ground between casual and more formal. Which is why I like them! My style is quite casual, but I love how these can easily be dressed up or dressed down depending on how you wear them. As you will be able to see here, just by adding a different shoe, the dress can already have a very different look.

The first dress I would like to show you is a red one from Asos. This fun dress has a tropical print with palm leaves and pink orchids. I love the pink and red contrast. It is a great dress for summer time wear but I also like wearing it in the fall time with a different shoe and a cardigan. For summer, I would pair the dress with a pair of pink loafers. It adds a more casual touch and keeps it light. For fall, I would add a pair of tan brogues and a beige cardigan. That way it is much warmer and you can wear it through despite the bright colors. The pink loafers are H&M. The tan brogues are by Dr. Marten’s.

The second tea dress I would like to show you is this peachy pink number from Topshop. Since the color is less bold, this dress is a lot more muted. I think this would be a nice dress to wear to a wedding or for other slightly, but not too formal occasions. The dress has quite a deep V and I love layering black tights and a black bodycon dress underneath as it is quite sheer. Pairing it with darker colors, makes it perfect for the fall time. In the summer, I would wear a pair of tan brogues to stick to the neutral theme. The black loafers are New Look. The tan brogues are ASOS.

The last tea dress I am styling up is one by Urban Outfitters. This is a more casual dress that has a very retro vibe. Because of the round collar, this dress looks very 50s. It is a blackened navy with red poppies, which makes this dress the most perfect one for the fall/ winter season. The dark colors means it pairs well with blacks and I love wearing it with a pair of Chelsea boots. That makes it a bit more casual. But you know me, I love adding a bit of a boyish look to my dresses. So my second outfit is with a pair of patent Oxfords and a fluffy black cardigan. The Chelsea boots are ASOS. The patent leather Oxfords are Dr. Marten’s.
