In today’s blog post we are going for a double whammy: a video AND a picture blog all in one. The reason? To show you the closeups and application of the new lipsticks from Catrice’s 2020 fall/ winter update. They released two new lines: the Clean ID Ultra High Shine and the Full Satin Nud lipsticks. There was one more lipstick that was released, which was a red shade from their already existing Demi Matt line in REDefine Love. I already reviewed that lipstick for you here. Let’s have a closer look at all these lovely nude lipsticks.

Catrice Clean ID Ultra High Shine lipstick

As you can see these lipsticks are creamy and have shine to them, but I found that the shine is caused by shimmer rather than the formula itself. In fact after a first swatch most of that shimmer had disappeared save for a bit in one shade and so these were no longer as shiny. As you will see in the video and the swatch pictures below, out of all of these only looks okay on me. While a nice formula that needs quite a bit of touching up, I didn’t think the undertones of these lipstick shades were quite right for me.
Catrice Full Satin Nude lipstick

These are the Full Satin Nude lipsticks. There already is a line of Full Satin lipsticks and those are some great creamy lipsticks with a satin finish that have a pretty okay wear time. Again, like with the Clean ID range the undertones of these were not quite right for me save for the deepest shade. The others were either too pale or too warm toned. So these are not the best if you have a cool to neutral undertone and fair skin lik me.

My Final Thoughts
What do I think of these two new lines of lipsticks? Well, to be quite fair I prefer the Full Satin Nude over the Clean ID Ultra High Shine but that’s not saying much. In both lines I felt that the creamy texture is really nice and while that never makes for a super longlasting lipstick, it certainly makes for a comfortable one. However, in both lines I also feel there are too many shades I just wouldn’t wear as they aren’t right for my complexion. Out of all 10 shades featured here today there are only 2 I am considering keeping.
Would I recommend the new Catrice lipsticks for fall/ winter 2020?
I am not saying you should stay away from these as from a quality stand point I think these are fine. Not great, but they will get the job done if you are looking for an affordable lipsticks that doesn’t break the bank. That does mean thought that you will only be able to make this work for you if you find a shade that suits you. In my case there were very few and I also felt that the shades looks a bit different between the bullet, the swatch and on the lips. It would be best if you can find testers in store and swatch them on your lips but that is of course currently very difficult to do.
