A great brand with some great palettes is Nabla. And they released a bunch of smaller, 6-pan palettes called the Cutie palettes. I own all 7 of the Cutie palettes and I have already reviewed the Coral Cutie palette. So today we are looking at the third palette they launched in the line which is the Platinum Cutie palette. This is one of more cool toned color stories, so you just know that I will love that. So let’s take a closer look.

Review: Nabla Cutie #3 Platinum eyeshadow palette

So the Nabla Cutie palettes are 6-pan mini palettes with some really cool, curated color stories. They retail for €23.50 and they are quite widely available. I usually buy through the official Nabla website or through Boozyshop, but Ulta and Beauty Bay also stock the brand. In short, Nabla is quite easy to get a hold of and I think that is a great perk. The price point isn’t that cheap for just 6 shades, but most Nabla palettes are in the €40 range so it kind of makes sense in terms of the other offerings from the brand.

What does this palette have to offer?

So this is a cool toned palette, but it’s a cool toned palette with some warmth to it, which makes it perfect for many more people. It is not too ashy and grey which is what a lot of cool toned palettes suffer from. That is why I appreciate this palette and the way it works. What may be good to know is that the palette skews quite deep and sultry. If you have a fair skin tone, this may not be perfect as it may be too dark for your liking. However, if you have a medium to deep complexion this will work flawlessly for you.

What is the color story like?

This palette features 4 shimmers and two mattes and of the palette about 3 shades are true cool tones, while the others are either shades that can pull cool toned depending on how you place them and what you pair them with or they are simply a straight up warm tone. Priceless is the only true warm tone, but Aristocracy and Rich Darling can pull warm toned. On me, those two browns pulled a bit more pink toned almost, so I think those can look different on different people depending on their undertone. The other three shades are great cool tones. Gem System is quite possibly one of the best taupes on the planet, so that’s why that is my favorite shade in the palette.

Here you can clearly see that the quality of these shades is on point. The mattes are a bit drier, but they are easy to build up and get full intensity. The shimmers are great and I think you can see here why those two browns could be more cool toned as the brown shimmer has a very cool toned flip to it and the matte is like a rosy toned brown. The gold is a bit of a weird shade for me in this palette and I used it in the look below as I always aim to try every shade in a palette, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to it if I reach for this palette outside of doing reviews.

What does this palette look like on the eye?

So eyeshadow cannot be reviewed unless we try it on the eye. So how do these shadows apply? Well as you can see below: very easily. These shades I found very successful so what did I do?

I had to use that taupe all over the lid of course and I used the matte mid toned brown in the crease as it is the only shade I can really use in the crease. I used the shimmering brown on the lower lash line together with the gold. And here you can see what I mean with the gold just not having my favorite undertone. I feel it clashes too much with the other shades. I used the silver in the inner corner and I used the darkest matte as a bit of liner. Overall a very successful look and I just love the way this looks on me.

My final thoughts

The Nabla Cutie Platinum eyeshadow palette is one of my favorites in the Cutie line and for a good reason. These shadows are saturated, easy to blend, and they stay on all day over an eyeshadow primer. The shimmers are vibrant enough and I love the combination of shades save for the gold shade. But then again, I am picky when it comes to golds. Overall, the Cutie Platinum is simply a palette that has everything I love as it is more cool toned, but not too smokey if you don’t want to and I think it is quite versatile for such a curated color story.

Would I recommend the Nabla Cutie Platinum eyeshadow palette?

This palette is stunning and I think it is a great cool toned palette that can work on many different people. It has enough depth for it to work on a range on skin tones, it is cool toned but not ashy grey and therefore not dead looking if you have a warmer undertone and lastly it simply has stellar quality. I would recommend waiting around for a sale as the price point is quite steep for a 6-pan color story.
