Pat McGrath Divine Blush Duo review

In this month’s Shop My Stash I finally selected my Pat McGrath duo blush. I bought this in the Black Friday sale after seeing this being released and being mildly interested. The reason? I already own a PmG blush which I love so did I really need more? Of course not, but this looked different so let’s see how I got on.

Unfortunately I am a bit of a dummy and I have not yet posted a review for my Pat McGrath blush in Divine Rose, so let me sum up that review in a few words. I love it! It is one of my favorite mauve toned blushes and one of the reasons is the formula. This blush is soft and easy to blend and I was hoping the duo blush would be similar.

Review: Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Divine Blush Duo in Venusian Sunrise

At €37 this is an expensive blush product. But hey, it’s Pat McGrath so we knew going into this that this product wouldn’t be cheap. That’s why I prefer the brand when there is a sale on. I mainly buy their products from the official website as they have no additional shipping and handling fees but the brand is available from many luxury retailers as well.

What does this blush have to offer?

I think you can tell just by looking at this why I wanted to try this. The Pat McGrath duo blush range comes with blushes that feature two shades. So technically you get three: the lilac, a peachy pink and the shade you get when you mix the two together. I do feel the mix of the two is prettiest on me and depending on how you blend it you get the perfect mix of warm and cool tones.

How does this blush swatch?

So with this it really depends on how you pick it up how much you get from each shade. In the swatch it therefore looks a bit more cool toned than on the cheeks as my brush is better at picking up the peachy pink rather than my finger.

My main reason for wanting another Pat McGrath blush? The amazing formula. This is quite possibly the most blendable easiest to work with blush I have ever tried. It goes on beautifully and lasts a long time and for a shade this light it had no trouble showing up either.

What does this blush look like on the cheeks?

I was surprised at first with what this looks like on the cheeks. I thought it might pick up more of the lilac shade but it turns into a beautifuly fresh peachy pink that is great for the spring time. It has that touch of warmth which makes it super flattering but there is also a bit of a blue tone to it. This means it goes with many looks and looks stunning on almost everyone. This particular shade I would recommend mostly for fair skin tones though.

Should you buy the Pat McGrath duo blush?

I think this blush is a very stunning one but the price point isn’t for everyone. Therefore I would recommend buyin this on sale and waiting for a good deal on the Pat McGrath website. There the selection is the widest, the stock the best and they won’t charge you extra.

The shade Venusian Sunrise is stunning and a little bit unexpected. It made me not reach for it initially but once I got the hang of it, it turned into a great staple shade that I now know goes perfectly with my spring/ summer looks.

All in all, this is a solid Pat McGrath product with a stellar formula, great blendability and the blush comes in a range of shades. So I think many people could end up enjoying this blush, provided it is within your budget.
