A brand I saw doing a lot of interesting products was a brand I had not yet heard of before: Mizon. It’s quite affordable and so I was curious to see what their BB creams would be like. I picked up two and one of them is what we are reviewing today.

One of the ingredients you can find in a lot of K-beauty skincare is a snail extract and this BB cream boasts the same product. It also includes and SPF 50 and it comes in 4 shades. Let’s have a deep dive.
Review: Mizon Snail Repair Intensive BB Cream #21
One of the reasons why Mizon stood out to me as a brand it because it is one of the more affordable K-beauty brands. This retails for around €13 at full price but Yesstyle (where I bought this) has regular sales and this currently retails for €8.75 which is a good deal for any base product.
What does this BB cream have to offer?

So according to the description claims this product contains 35% of the snail extract. It has buildable coverage and it should blur and make skin look more even. It should leave a glowy finish and it is suitable for sensitive skin as it is fragrance free and free from parabens. I have never tried any snail extract products before this and it is reportedly very hydrating so I wanted to try it for that reason.
What does this product look like on the face?

As you could already see in the swatch, the finish this gives is very glowy. Shade 21 is the usual shade I get in my BB cream products as it is not too light nor too dark, but this has a very yellow undertone, which means it is less perfect for me.
Coverage wise I love what this looks like. It has a natural finish but still covers up my redness withouth it looking cakey. It doesn’t have the best wear time though. After a full day of wear this can pull into lines and disappear a little bit. It may be the weather as it’s been heating up and this may be better for my dry skin in the winter time.
What is the shade match like?

The biggest issue with any BB cream is the shade match. They often contain whitening agents which can make it look grey at times. This is unfortunately too yellow, but in terms of depth this can definitely work for me. All I need is a bit of bronzer and doing the rest of my makeup and this makes for a good looking makeup base.
Should you buy the Mizon Snail Repair BB Cream?

This is a very good and affordable base product that is great for dry skin. The fact that it is fragrance free is an added bonus. This makes it work for many different people. Unfortunately shade 21 is the lightest shade available which will not be light enough for everyone and the deepest shade (31) will not be deep enough for everyone.
So as with many BB cream reviews it seems as if the shade range is what essentially knocks this down. The formula is great and hydrating (a bit too much for the current weather for me), but also a bit slippy. It wears decently and it has a very pleasant texture that is easy to blend.
There are a lot of pros to this for sure, but I don’t think it is the best BB cream out there. Which one is best? Stay tuned for more K-beauty BB cream reviews on here and a grand ranking round up where I decide which one is my favorite in July.
