Lip balm: such a simple skincare product that I think everyone uses. But which ones are good? And which ones are especially good for the night time? After loving the Nuxe Rêve de Miel for years, I have tried other things but nothing has been able to knock the Nuxe off its thrown. Will the O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Overnight lip balm do the trick?
Trying out lip balms can be a difficult thing as they usually last ages and with any skincare like product I like using things up before I move on to something else. So I have learned to not have too many on hand. I have used this one up by now and I just wanted to share my thoughts with you.
Review: O’Keeffe’s Lip Repair Overnight lip balm
For around €6 you get a good lip balm that gets the job done but I feel that after using up the entire tub the Nuxe is still my favorite. My reason for trying this was simple: my mom recommended it after she tried a different product by the brand and said how heavy duty it was. Because this brand was made to help people who are outdoors all day to maintain their skin. So I had high hopes, but this wasn’t quite it for me.
Why this isn’t my perfect lip balm?
While this is a nice lip balm, I also feel it’s a little bit too basic. A tub like this took me over a year to use up so you get a lot of bang for your buck. However, I felt that once winter hit and my lips got drier this wasn’t enough for my dry lips and keep them nourished in the colder winter months when my central heating is on.
So overall, this is a decent lip balm but the formula isn’t quite rich enough for me to be using it year round. This is why I am not going back to it. It feels like a very classic lip balm that reminds me of very basic petroleum based lip blasm I used in the past. Since I don’t use up a lip balm that quickly I don’t spending a little bit more so I won’t be repurchasing this one.
