If you have been following my skincare reviews for some time you’ll know that I love a fussfree skincare routine. My skin is dry/ dehydrated and often can react to things it doesn’t like. Cetaphil is one of those brands I know to be fussfree, so let’s test out their Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15.

From what I can tell, Cetaphil is a touch tough to find if you are not in the US. However, many online retailers stock it, so just do an online search if you were wondering where this is available in your country.
Skincare review: Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer SPF
From what I can tell, this product retails for around the €15.50 mark. As far as a moisturizer goes that isn’t horribly expensive but it also isn’t super cheap. This also seems to come in an SPF 35 and SPF 50 version which is great! I always use a separate SPF over my moisturizer as I feel I cannot use enough of my moisturizer to get the SPF benefits.
What does this moisturizer have to offer?

My wish to try Cetaphil comes from the fact that they are a brand that is known to be great for sensitive skin types. Just like Cerave (can anyone tell me the difference between the two?) it is much raved about and so I had to try it. This moisturizer promises to be lightweight while nourishing. It should help with dryness, irritation and protect the skin barrier.
This is the ingredient list:
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Avobenzone 3%, Octocrylene 10%
INACTIVE INGREDIENTS
Water, Diisopropyl Adipate, Cyclomethicone, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Carbomer 940, Disodium EDTA, Triethanolamine
Sadly the Cetaphil website does not list the ingredients in order as far as I can tell, so I cannot decipher whether the promised active ingredients are anywhere high up on the list. What I like here is that the ingredient list is short and it’s got no fragrance in it. That’s always a winner in my book.
My experience using the product

So I used a Cerave moisturizer late last year which came in such a large bottle it lasted me a good while. That one I didn’t end up liking enough to give it a repurchase any time soon. It wasn’t rich enough and I had to use a lot for it to do anything for my skin. This is a common gripe I have with skincare formulated for sensitive skin. There are so few active ingredients in it that it ends up not being effective at all and so I prefer products that keep the middle ground.
The Cetaphil moisturizer I was therefore expecting to be similar. But this I like so much more. It is much richer and it is a great step in my morning skincare routine. I feel it really makes my skin ready for the day. It is well-moisturized and I have been using it consistently for the past 2 months. So far, no reactions and there are even days where I feel this is enough and I don’t need my usual serum before it.
Should you buy the Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer?
I think this is a great moisturizer. I just wish it was a bit easier to buy where I am at. This is the only reason why I will not be repurchasing this any time soon. There are simply other moisturizers at this price point that are far easier for me to buy. So no need to try and hunt this down, no matter how much I like it.
However if I were to come across this in a store I would definitely pick it up. This makes my skin feel great, look great and it wears well under makeup to boot. What’s not to love?
