Recipe: French Toast w/ fresh fruit

It’s Sunday! And on Sunday’s I always like to have a bigger breakfast so I won’t need anything else during the rest of the day. This usually means I spoil myself rotten: croissants, bacon, eggs, or, like today, French toast. It’s quick, easy, fills you up for hours and most importantly: it’s incredibly yummy! It’s probably my favorite breakfast food out there. Here’s how to make it.

Ingredients:

  • bread (left over bread is best! You can make this by leaving your bread out in the open)
  • milk
  • granulated sugar
  • cinnamon
  • 1 egg
  • butter
  • deep plate
  • skillet (not pictured)

Optional ingredient: fresh fruit!

I went with strawberries, but you can also go with raspberries, blueberries or bananas.

Here’s how you make it (for 4 slices of bread):

1.) Pour some milk into the deep plate. You just need enough milk to cover the bottom of your plate twice for 4 slices of bread.

2.) Break the egg and add it to the milk. Carefully whisk the egg into the milk.

3.) Add sugar. I just shake my container over the plate and cover it once. Does the trick.

4.) Add cinnamon. I like to add tons. Just add to taste.

5.) Put some butter in the skillet and make sure the pan is nice and hot.

6.) Soak a slice of bread in the milk mixture. Make sure to get both sides.

it looks gross, but it tastes so yummy!

7.) Fry the bread in the pan on both sides. And put on a plate.

8.) Repeat till all bread is gone.

You’ll hopefully end up with something like this:

You can add more cinnamon or sugar before serving. I like to add some brown sugar before I eat it!

Q: what’s your favorite breakfast food?
