Since the weather has gone dark and dreary I take up anything I can to make me feel good. Naturally there are the usual suspects, such as cookies, hot chocolate and a good dose of music, but I’ve also started watching movies again. And what suits this time of year better than some feel good movies? I have a few favorites! Naturally all the movies I have seen the most are my feel good movies, but since I already wrote about that, I will give you a entirely new pick.
Legally Blonde
The only typically girly movie that I love: Legally Blonde, with Reese Witherspoon as the spoiled and over the top girly Elle who tries to win back her boyfriend by going to Harvard Law School. This movie is funny, brilliant and preaches girl power. It’s also pink and fluffy. 😉
Dirty Dancing 1 & 2
If there is one type of movie that breathes feel good, it’s dance movies, but especially these ones. I love both the original and the remake. I mean, Patrick Swayze is a legend and the second one just makes you want to go to Cuba and dance all night long.
Finding Nemo
The BEST Pixar movie of all time! Fish loving sharks? Check! Ellen Degeneres voicing Dory? Check! (Hey! I speak whale!) Crazy sea gulls? Check! Hippy like sea turtles? Check! And it makes for one of the funniest movies of all time. I laugh crying every time I see this.
500 Days of Summer
Even though this movie is about a break up, this still constitutes as a feel good movie, even if it is only for the way in which it is made. The story is about Tom and Summer and their relationship which lasts for 500 days. I already wrote about this movie before, so check this post if you are interested in more.
The Muppet Christmas Carol
How apt for the time of year, but this is such a great movie. I mean Michael Cain & Kermit the Frog in one movie retelling Charles Dickens’ Christmas Carol? What else do you need to get that Christmas feeling?
