What I eat #4 (including food shoplog)

Another What I Eat already! And I didn’t even take pictures while I was on the trip. No, all the pictures below were taken from Monday April 29th till Sunday May 5th. A week in food. Including groceries! How exciting is that!

This week’s groceries…

This week I thought it would be fun to show you all the groceries I got. The only thing not in the picture are the baking sheets I bought, but since that isn’t food I decided it wasn’t important. I will list everything you can see in the picture and explain a bit on what I plan on doing with it below.

Groceries (starting in the back):

  • Lettuce
  • Braeburn apples
  • Cherry tomatoes
  • Olives
  • Lentils
  • Pine nuts
  • Rice cakes (unsalted)
  • Milk
  • Yoghurt
  • Honey
  • Greek yoghurt
  • Cream cheese
  • Superfood mix: including goyi berries, inca berrie, mulberries, cranberries and raw cashew nuts
  • Cumin cheese
  • Cocoa power
  • Fennel
  • Kiwi fruit
  • Thickly sliced bacon
  • Bananas
  • Cucumber
  • Red bell pepper
  • Eggs

Lettuce, cucumber, olives, bell pepper, pine nuts and tomatoes are for my lunch salad this week. I plan on making a bacon/ lentil/ fennel stew this week for dinner. I’m sure you’ll see the result on here later. Yoghurt, kiwi fruit and superfood mix  is for breakfast. Milk and cocoa powder is for making protein shakes. I also bought frozen strawberries and blackberries for making shakes, but I forgot to put them in the pictures as I had already stored them in the freezer. Cheese is for snacking, as well as the bananas and apples. Eggs are for making breakfast/ lunch or dinner. And I like adding a table spoon of cream cheese when I make omelets ;-).

That’s pretty much what I’ll eat this week. Now on to what I ate last week.

Breakfast:

Buckwheat porridge with banana, cinnamon, raisins, honey & flax seeds

Yoghurt with walnuts, raisins, banana & flax seeds

Left over breakfast: kiwi fruit, superfood mix & raspberry/ blueberry protein shake

Lunch:

Three egg/ cream cheese omelet with spinach, stuffed with goat’s cheese

Banana/ egg pancakes with cinnamon & raspberries and blueberries

Salad with lettuce, cucumber, tomato, apple, walnuts, raisins & goat’s cheese drizzled with honey

Dinner:

Roasted honey/ cinnamon sweet potato & creamy spinach

Peasoup & rhubarb

Sushi (only thing I did not make myself 😉 )

Buckwheat pancakes: top = stuffed with goat’s cheese, bottom = with syrup

Other:

Raspberry, blueberry, walnut, honey, protein shake

My favorite drink: tea! These are my current favorites: Pukka Green Chai, Twinings Green Tea with Cranberry, Dille & Kamille Green Tea with Pommegranate and Raspberry and Jasmine tea.

That’s what I ate this week. Let me know if you want to see any recipes for anything. I have a tendency to just make something (i.e. the omelet, shakes, salads, etc.). I never work with recipes unless I’m throwing a dinner party, so I do whatever and hope for the best. That’s why I never include them, but if you’re interested I might be able to retrace my steps.

  1. I’m totally addicted to smoothies. I’m pretty sure I now get my 5 a day!

I’d like to see some of your roasted veggies recipes, as it’s something I really want to try and start doing more.

  2. I love this post, it is so interesting to see what you eat. Very inspiring. I would love to see more posts like these!
I just have one small question, where do you buy your protein shake powder (in the Netherlands)?

    • Oh thank you! I have a recipe coming up tomorrow, so I’m sure you’ll like that :-). I bought my protein shake powder from De Tuinen. I will do a post on some food essentials and where to find them in the near future. 🙂
