Sleek I-Divine eye shadow palettes

For today’s blog post I decided to change it up a bit. This isn’t necessarily a review, but more like a swatch blog post. Back in the day, I used to buy make up, but I didn’t necessarily take the pictures for placement on my blog. The result? A bunch of awesome products I never reviewed or showed properly. One such item this happened to are my Sleek I-Divine eye shadow palettes. I only ever fully reviewed the Au Naturel palette, but that is at least 4 years old. So I thought it was time to revisit my Sleek eye palette collection, this time including swatches and links to looks where possible.

In total I own 9 Sleek palettes. Some I bought, some I won in contests and some were gifted to me. I don’t use these all that often, but they make a great staple in your collection when you’re first starting out with make up, which is when I bought most of these. These palettes are versatile, relatively inexpensive and the color selection is amazing. I am still eyeballing three of their newer palettes, namely Calmly Before the Storm (all blues), Garden of Eden (mostly greens) and the newly released Enchanted Forest (stunning darker neutrals). One of the first palettes I purchased was the Storm palette. It contains some deeper neutral shades which is what sold me on this. This is a permanent palette in Sleek’s line and it has been around for a while. Most of the palettes I own have the honeycomb structure in the shadows: that’s how old these are. I think I bought my first Sleek palettes 4 – 5 years ago and they are still going strong. I didn’t end up using this much, but the black shadow had already broken once it arrived. The shadows in this palette do not have any names.

On to a palette that is no longer available: the Good Girl palette. It’s counterpart, Bad Girl, is still available and handy if you’re looking for an affordable smokey eye palette. This one is probably one of the craziest palettes I own. I mean, how often do you use pink eyeshadow? Me, not so much. It did come in handy when I was still doing regular 30 day make up challenge, for which I used this palette to create a peach make up look. It just isn’t the type of palette you casually pick up on a work day and you will always have to pull in other palettes to make this work.

This palette I won through a Twitter give away. The Showstoppers palette was a limited edition palette which features 1 shadow of each of their more popular palettes. It contains some stunning shades, but with this palette I feel there are too few shades that can be easily combined, nor are there too many transition shades in this. It simply gives me too few options to turn this into a full look. Again, not a palette I reach for often, but definitely a palette I will keep around, even if it’s just because it was limited edition.

When the Ultra Mattes Darks palette was released I was very very happy. Here was a truly stunning matte drugstore palette. That was and still is a unique offering in the drugstore. Not all shades perform as well, but they can easily be built up and intensified if that is what you like better. I used it in this super old blog post.

Why I even own this palette I don’t know. I remember seeing this and wanting it. Unfortunately it was the last one I did buy as I found some of the shades in this palette so disappointing. This palette was the reason why I lost interest in Sleek palettes for a while. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t useful. Again, this proved useful for creating some of the more colorful 30 Day Make Up Challenge looks. So when one of the assignments was to create a Barbie look, I pulled in this and 2 other Sleek palettes to create a full on pink & purple look.

Another oldie, which again hasn’t been used much. Mainly because this doesn’t boast the most wearable colors. They do make for some amazing pops of color though and that is the only reason why I kept this. Case in point: I used that vibrant neon green as an inner corner pop of color in this make up look. It is one of those palettes I easily forget about, because I do not usually have the urge for wearing bright neon colors on a daily basis. It does feature some very unique shades (I mean moss green eye shadow??), which is why I have hung on to it all this time.

But of course I have saved the best for last and we are now moving into my three most loved Sleek palettes. The first one of these is the Oh So Special palette. I absolutely love the matte pink that is Ribbon. As you can see that shadow has quite a dip in it. Organza is my second favorite shade in here and I love how it combines pinks with some pretty neutrals and some darker shades. There is the everlasting black shadow in this palette (I’d have preferred a deep dark brown in this), but this makes for very wearable make up looks, as you can see in this make up look.

Together with Oh So Special, Au Naturel is my most used Sleek palette. Again it has a stunning color pay off and is very neutral. This was one of the first neutral eye shadow palettes I purchased and it is what started off my love for neutral shadows combined with bright lipstick. Some of the light shades are very light, but they work well on my light skin tone. My favorite shade is toast, which is a perfect, matte overall lid shade. Taupe is also a stunning shimmer and livens up any look you will create with this.

One of my latest and most favorite Sleek I-Divine acquisitions is the Vintage Romance palette. This features some stunning golds and cranberry/ purple shades. This is an awesome palette for the fall and the holidays. It is one of my most most glamorous eye shadow palettes and it is great for creating darker, smokier looks as well as classic glam looks. I used it to create a make up look last year.
