Happy 1st of May everyone! Can you believe that it’s May already? April flew by and for me that means that the latter stages of the school year have arrived. We are currently in the middle of the last term and then it’s weeks and weeks of meetings, preparing for next year and I have a leadership course coming up just before summer break. Busy times! But nonetheless fun ones. Today’s post is all about that look back on what I’ve been loving in the month of April, so stay tuned.
Just a few favorites…
As per usual, this is quite the random of random favorites. There’s a bit of beauty, some books, some movies, some fashion bits, food and yes, a plant. I’m obsessed with a plant people. I know, I’m crazy, but I love that little thing and am determined to keep it alive and well.
My first favorite has to be the Marvel universe. I’ve been seriously fangirling over the live action movies and TV series that have been coming out in the past few years. I’ve been rewatching almost everything to prepare for the release of Captain America: Civil War. I hope to see that some time this week. So far, I’ve watched or rewatched all over Iron Man, Captain America, Ant Man, the newer Spider Man movies with Andrew Garfield, Avengers and am currently making my way through DareDevil on Netflix. Yup, I’m obsessed.
These H&M booties I’ve also been wearing quite a bit. Unfortunately the weather has been a bit of a let down lately, but on the nicer days I’ve been loving these. They go great with jeans but also dresses and skirts. I love the fringe detail on the side and the color is also a good spring staple.
The minute I spotted the OPI Soft Shades| Pastels collection I knew I had to pick up a few colors. When I saw them in real life, I couldn’t choose and bought all 6 shades: 4 minis and 2 full sized. I already reviewed these polishes here.
When it comes to reading I’m currently right on track with my 50 book challenge for 2016. According to Goodreads, I’m even 2 books ahead of schedule right now. One reason for that is my discovery of the Red Queen series. This appears to be a book series you either love or hate and I’m on the love it side of the spectrum. I’m currently on the second book and will then be moving on to the novellas. Can’t wait to read more from this world! Full review of at least the first book, coming up on Thursday.
L’Oreal True Match is a classic drugstore foundation that many people love. I reviewed the European version in this blog post. I loved that and was curious to see whether the US version was any difference. Available in far more shades than the European one, but in not such great packaging, this foundation has stolen my heart. N2 is the shade I use and it is spot on.
Salad time! I’ve been totally converted to having salads again and I’ve been trying some new things too. This is a quinoa/ roasted chick pea salad that is absolutely delish. Recipe coming soon!
A product that I haven’t had for a long time, but that I absolutely fell in love with at first use, is the H&M Beauty bronzer. I reviewed it here. It is the perfect matte light bronzer that isn’t too orange and works great on my fair skin. I’ve been using this every day since I got it.
Skincare wise I’ve been trying out some new products as well. One of those new products is the HEMA Micellar cleansing water that I love, as you may have read here. It is only โฌ2 for a bottle and works as well, if not better than the Garnier version.
I know you were waiting for this one! Haha. Yes, I’ve been loving my newest plant addition. I’m not someone who’s really good with plants, but so far this has lasted pretty well. I’m curious to see how well this lasts.
Last but not least, I’ve been loving my current night time skincare routine. There’s a few more steps involved now, and most product I am currently using are by Kiehl’s. I’ve been using their Iris Extract Activating Treatment Essence, followed by the Midnight Recovery Concentrate. I then apply night cream and finally the Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment. These three Kiehl’s products are absolutely divine. Reviews are coming up shortly.
What have you been loving this month?
