Chanel Tissé Dimensions eyeshadow palette

I’ve slowly begun getting into Chanel eyeshadow. An expensive feat, no doubt, but well worth the money if you ask me. I spotted a stunning new shade selection at my local high end make up shop: Tissé Dimensions. The mixture of a metallic silver and other cool toned shades appealed to me and after much umming and arring I decided to bite the bullet and go for it. Meet the gorgeousness that is the latest addition to my make up collection.

As far as I can tell this palette is part of an in between limited edition collection. I haven’t heard much about it, but it seems to exist of a number of new eyeshadow palette launches and Kristen Stewart as the face for the make up. The palettes cost €51.90. I got mine however, with a 30% discount, which made it well worth my while.

Chanel packaging is an absolute stunner to begin with. I love the sleek black compacts with it’s white embossed logo. I used to think Chanel wast too classic and too old lady-ish for my taste, but slowly but surely I’ve come to appreciate the brand more and more.

The palette comes in one of those velvet pouches. I never keep these as they simply take up space, but I like the added touch. Inside the pouch was also a little booklet that tells you more about the palette. The booklet included a few ideas on how to use this palette for a make up look as well. So if you’re a total beginner you would not be left stranded not knowing what to do.

One of the reasons why I didn’t like Chanel much in the past, was because I couldn’t get into the shade selection. However, I think they are currently doing a great job at making interesting, slightly unexpected combinations that still go very well together. The new palette for fall is another stunner and the one I am showing you here doesn’t look like much when you look at it at first, but only shows its true beauty once you start using it.

Overall, Chanel’s Tissé Dimensions is a palette that is mostly cool toned in nature. According to Chanel, this contains a highlight shade, a lid shade, an accent shade and a darker/ smokier shade. The palette also comes with two very tiny sponge tip applicators which are so small that you can barely pick them up and they go all over the place.

The shades range from a metallic silver (the absolute no. 1 reason why I fell for this palette), a satin off white, a satin baby pink and a satin smokey purple/ plum shade. All of the shades have a bit of a sheen to them. Enough to make them interesting but not so much so that you can’t use them everywhere on your eye if you would wish to do so.

Chanel is not famous for having the most pigmented eyeshadows on the market. In fact, I think that to some people these swatches may look disappointing. But looks can be deceiving: these shadows are buildable, easy to blend and so easy to work with.

Where with super pigmented shadows you can easily make a mess that is difficult to blend out, these shadows are perfect if you are more into slowly building up your look. These eyeshadows stay on an entire day with a good primer underneath.

Unfortunately, these pictures don’t do the palette much justice. The look was more intense and far smokier and shinier in real life. The silver doesn’t translate well on camera once on the eye. But I love how that adds a good amount of interest to an otherwise quite basic look. The purple and the pink make for some unexpected, yet soft pops of color. I found the silver shade to be best applied using fingers for the most intense pay off.

My final conclusion would be that this is an absolutely lovely palette. This is only my second Chanel palette, but I think I may be in love. With shades so easy to blend and an interesting color selection, I think that Chanel is upping their make up game. This is not a total must have in your make up collection, but if you are looking to splurge on a make up item, then a Chanel eyeshadow palette is a very safe bet.
