Week in outfits #4

It’s time again to show you what I wore throughout last week. I last did one of these in April and so it was about time. Last week was my second week back at work after a nice summer vacation.

Only 6 looks this time, because I didn’t go anywhere on Sunday and just wore PJs all day.

The weather has been quite nice these past few weeks and we’re currently heading towards the craziest summer weather in the middle of September. But oh well… These outfits may not look super summery yet, but bare feet and legs have definitely been happening a lot lately. Here’s what I wore.

Monday 29 August 2016

Forever 21 Mint green blouse with lace crochet collar
Asos Farley jeans in heather grey
Underground via Urban Outfitters mint green creepers

This outfit is basic and bright, mixing mostly subdued hues that I think worked really well together. The jeans are a Mom jeans style and I like rolling them up to expose a little bit of extra ankle. The blouse is old. I must have bought it 3 or 4 years ago, back when F21 didn’t have a physical store in the Netherlands yet. It is really cute. Apart from the lace collar, it also has little metal balls for buttons. But the center piece here are the shoes. I got lots of stares and compliments when I wore these. I don’t wear them often as they cannot get dirty because you can’t clean them, but when I do, I make it count.

Tuesday 30 August 2016

Forever 21 Geometric black and white blouse
Asos Farley jeans in heather grey
Converse All Stars low cut in red

I decided to wear the same jeans for a second day. The Asos jeans are nice, but they stretch out a lot, making them super comfy, but a little bit less flattering when not freshly washed. I paired them with a boxy shaped blouse with a fun print. To keep the outfit from getting boring, I added  pop of color by adding on a bright red lipstick, red nails and red shoes all in the same shade. Yes, I will totally use make up and nail polish to accessorize an outfit.

Wednesday 31 August 2016

Forever 21 floral dress
Primark 2 tone brogues

I am just starting to realize that I’m wearing a lot of Forever 21 items in this overview. I honestly did not do that on purpose! This dress is an absolute dream. I love how the skirt drapes over my hips and any other lumps and bumps. It has a low cut V in the back, which gives it an extra touch and keeps it from becoming too retro and stuffy looking. For a shoes, I wore my Primark brogues which are on the end of their tether, as they are close to falling apart.

Thursday 1 September 2016

Primark black and white striped cold shoulder top
Asos Acid wash Leigh jeans
Nike Roshe Run sneakers (color is hot lava I believe)

Another outfit where the shoes are the real eye catchers. That is why I kept the rest very basic. I wore this on my day off, while running some errands. So I wanted to keep it casual and comfy. This top is insanely soft and has a bit of a cropped style and it is nice and floaty. Leigh jeans are soft and bit thinner, which is why I love wearing them in spring/ summer over my staple Jamie jeans. They do not retain their shape all that well, plus these are way too long as they only had a size 34 in length left when I bought these, but I can appreciate a good acid wash jeans any time of day.

Friday 2 September 2016

H&M Black sleeveless v-neck top
Topshop Grey linnen joggers/ trousers
Manfield Black stiletto heels

My favorite outfit I wore last week? This one! I paired this pair of jogger trousers with a black top and black heels. Simple, yet sophisticated. The trousers give the outfit something playful and fun as they are quite unexpected. The linen material paired with the joggers style and the stitched on seam, make this the perfect dressed down formal pair of pants. I upgraded the look with a slightly dressier top and heels.

Saturday 3 September 2016

H&M Cream silky style boxy blouse
Forever 21 Khaki green midi button down skirt
Dr. Marten’s Tan Charlotte brogues

The final outfit I wore to a family barbecue. I paired some very neutral outfits together. I love cream/ white and khaki green for some reason. The blouse is very baggy and boxy and kept bunching up around my waste I liked the retro vibe it gave. I left the top buttons unbuttoned to prevent the look from getting too school teacher-esque. The skirt adds a bit of vintage vibes and the shoes are insanely comfortable and keep middle ground between an oxford and a brogue with an intricate stenciled in detail on the top of the leather.

What did you wear last week?
