Sleek I-Divine On the Horizon eyeshadow palette

So many great fall palettes that are released, so little time. But that doesn’t mean I can keep this beauty away from you! For fall Sleek has released three new I-Divine eyeshadow palettes: On the Horizon, Goodnight Sweetheart and Nordic Skies. I decided to buy two of them and today, I am reviewing the first one for you: On The Horizon.

If you are unfamiliar with Sleek, then where have you been? This UK drugstore brand is available worldwide via their official website (sleekmakeup.com) and is incredibly affordable. An I-Divine eyeshadow palette retails for €10.49 and for that price you get 12 incredibly pigmented eyeshadows. I already own quite a few Sleek eyeshadow palettes and not one of them and so I knew what I was in for when I purchased a new one.

On the Horizon is a limited edition palette, so get it while you still can! The box it comes in is absolutely gorgeous. With a setting sun as the background, the colors on the box nicely reflect the colors that are inside. With mostly oranges and greens, this is a very warm, earthy toned palette: perfect for fall.

Sleek’s packaging lives up tot he name: it’s sleek. Each palette comes in a black slim case design with a mirror in the lid and a sponge tip applicator. I like how Sleek has started printing the names of palettes onto the packaging for limited edition palettes. Because once you have a few of these, they are difficult to tell apart otherwise.

The shade selection is incredibly unique for a drugstore palette. There are a couple of intense greens, a deep navy, some warm oranges and some good warm toned neutrals such as browns and beiges. Out of the 12 shadows only 3 are matte: the rest are all gorgeous shimmers.

Bonfire, Sugar Maple
Chestnut, Harvest Moon

  • Bonfire: intense orange with golden shimmer
  • Sugar Maple: shimmery pink toned peach
  • Chestnut: intense dark warm brown with golden shimmer
  • Harvest Moon: matte orange

Beech, Moss
Fawn, Willow

  • Beech: matte creamy beige
  • Moss: blue/ brown shadow with shimmer
  • Fawn: shimmery pale gold
  • Willow: matte forest green

Raindrop, Dawn
Dew Drop, Pine Cone

  • Raindrop: bright shimmering green
  • Dawn: shimmery navy
  • Dew Drop: shimmery champagne
  • Pine Cone: shimmery medium warm toned brown

Sleek I-Divine eyeshadow palette On the Horizon

Bonfire, Sugar Maple, Beech, Moss, Raindrop, Dawn
Chestnut, Harvest Moon, Fawn, Willow, Dew Drop, Pine Cone

As can be expected from Sleek, these shades are intense. The only shades that are a tad sheer are Moss and Fawn. They are still very buildable and two shades that are very useful exactly because they aren’t too intense. Dawn and Chestnut are two great shade to add some depth and definition to the eye, while Dew Drop, Pine Cone and Sugar Maple are some great neutrals that really make this palette tick.

The stand out shades here are Bonfire, Harvest Moon and Willow. These are also my favorite in the palette and the main reason why I was drawn to this. Bonfire reminds me of something Urban Decay would do and Willow is simply one of the best matte forest greens out there. Beech is a good highlight shade and Raindrop is a good shade to add some variety.

Look 1:
Sugar Maple (lid)
Harvest Moon (crease)
Pine Cone (crease)
Dawn (lower lash line)
Beech (brow bone)Fawn (inner corner)

For the first look, I knew I wanted to play around with those oranges. I love wearing orange on my upper lid and then changing it  up and wear a blue on the lower lash line. You could also call this my take on a wearable sunset eye: the orange represents the sunset, the blue the ocean. Still neutral, yet with a pop of unexpected color.

Look 2:
Moss (lid)
Willow (crease)
Beech (brow bone & inner corner)
Pine cone & Chestnut (lower lash line)

For the second look, I decided to play around with the other major color scheme in this palette: the greens. Willow is a touch difficult to blend, but Moss is a shade that I simply fell in love with. To keep the focus ont hat pop of green, I didn’t add too much in terms of pops of color and kept the rest fairly basic.

Yes, Sleek has produced another winner with the On the Horizon I-Divine make up palette. This is such a versatile palette that is great if you are willing to explore color, but are a bit scared to go all out. It had been a while since I had tried any of their products, but this color scheme is just too perfect for fall. Snatch it up while you still can!

What are your favorite colors to wear for fall?

P.S I’m aware lighting in these pictures isn’t ideal. I’m still getting used to the lack of daylight.

  1. Leuke looks heb je weer gemaakt! Het palette vind ik leuk om te zien, maar zou ik zelf niet snel kopen. De kleuren passen niet zo bij mij
