The Body Shop skincare favorites

It may not have been lost on you that the past two days, there were no blog posts going live. That’s because I spent some time traveling and once I got back, I didn’t have the energy to write some new blog posts. So apologies for that, but today I’m back with new content! To kick things back off again, I figured I would delve into my skincare and talk you through some of my favorite TBS skincare products. Some are fairly new to me, while others have been long time favorites. Okay, let’s roll.

The Body Shop skincare favorites

The Body Shop skincare favorites

Out of all the The Body Shop products that I’ve tried there are few that have reached holy grail status. These products work for my dry/ dehydrated/ combo skin just fine. And though my skin has been really good lately with not being too sensitive and prone to allergic reactions, these products have never given me any problems to begin with. That’s where good skincare starts for me: with products that do something for my skin, while not aggravating it.

The Body Shop Aloe Calming Toner

If you’ve been following my blog for a while then this product should be familiar to you. This product was one of the very first beauty reviews on this blog and I have been using this on and off for the past 6 or 7 years. The Aloe Vera line by TBS was the first line of skincare that I tried and worked for me. With super sensitive skin, most products either broke me out or gave me a rash and I find that especially this toner is a turning point in my skincare routine. It’s great for a quick cleanse or as a last step before starting the rest of your skincare routine.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Energising Face Spritz

Not yet reviewed, but a firm favorite in my skincare routine, especially over summer, is this face spritz. I like using this in the mornings to give my skin a hydrating boost. The citrus smell and ingredients also make me feel instantly more awake. What’s more, this face spray lasts a good while: I’ve been using it nearly daily since June and it’s still only 2/3 down. After this I have one or two other face spritzes to use up first, but I will definitely be repurchasing this product once those have run out.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil

A line I haven’t tried much of is the Vitamin E line. It is a bit too middle of the road to me. I have tried a few travel sized products from the line, but they aren’t my favorite. This smells great, but it’s not effective enough for my skin needs. Apart from this serum that is. The minute I started using this serum, I could notice a difference in my skin. This is especially nice in the winter time. I layer it under my night time moisturizer for that extra boost and I wake up with the smoothest, most nourished skin ever.

The Body Shop Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream

Many of the TBS skincare products were firsts for me. The first ever eye cream I liked for instance. And it was this one: the Nutriganics Smoothing Eye Cream. It has a handy pump (huge plus!) which is nice and hygienic and easy to use. The product itself is a bit thick and feels whipped. After using this for a few months I started noticing less milia around my eye area and also an improvement of some of the finer lines that have started to appear around my eyes. It’s not the most heavy duty eye cream out there, but this definitely gets the job done.

The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Boosting Microdermabrasion

Lastly, there is the best skincare discovery of 2016 for me. No kidding, this product has been making all the difference to me. The milia on my cheeks would always get worse every few months or so. Ever since I am using this, the milia do not grow as big any more and I feel there are fewer on my face that are very noticeable. In any case, I’ve been lowing slapping on the cheekbone highlight. Before I didn’t like using too strong of a highlight as the bumps on my cheeks would only stand out more, but ever since I started using this, I no longer have that issue. I only use this once a week while I’m in the shower.
