Concealer is one of my favorite products to try and test out. And if they are affordable to boot, then that’s great of course. Over the years I have tried quite a few drugstore concealers and thought I’d decide on which ones are my favorites. That is why I have selected my top 5 drugstore concealers.
Top 5 drugstore concealers
Maybelline Fit Me concealer
The Maybelline Fit Me concealer is one of my favorite drugstore concealers. I reviewed it and put it up against the NARS Radiant Creamy concealer in this double review. I got this in the shade 15 Fair and it is absolutely perfect. It has good coverage, yet blend easily and is very hydrating. What I like best about this is quite possibly the shade. Out of all these 5 concealers this one suits me best shade wise.
Collection Lasting Perfection concealer
A cult favorite is the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer. This is a concealer of which I used up an entire tube. Yes, used up. I loved this so much that I not only repurchased it, but also got it in a darker shade so I can wear this concealer year round. This is a great all-rounder as it not only works on the under eye but also on blemishes, red patches, and discolorations. The consistency is a bit thicker but it covers everything nicely. I reviewed both colors I own, which are fair and cool medium, in this blog post.
Rimmel Match Perfection concealer
When I bought the Rimmel concealer, I was immediately sold on it and used it day after day. But it runs out quite quickly so I stopped using it as I hadn’t seen this anywhere in The Netherlands in my shade. Now that I have found it I will certainly go back to it as this is a great brightening concealer. Again it has good coverage, does not emphasize dry lines and is easy to apply as it has a brush tip applicator. Review is still to come and I wear the shade 010 Ivory.
LA Girl Proconceal concealer
I wrote a raving review of the LA Girl Proconceal concealer in Light Ivory a few weeks ago and I still love it. I have repurchased this shade and one shade lighter as the shade on this is a bit awkward and needs some getting used to. Even though it is light enough, it doesn’t look like it in the swatch or the tube. Yet still this is very brightening because of it’s peachy undertone. It works well when you blend it into the rest of your make up and I love using this all over my face to cover anything I need covering. You can find that glowing review here.
Catrice Liquid Camouflage concealer
The best Catrice concealer out there is the Liquid Camouflage concealer. This is a more beige toned concealer and is very creamy yet blendable. It is very comparable to the Collection concealer in texture so it is a little bit thicker. The main difference between the two is that the Collection concealer is only available in UK drugstores, while the Catrice one is more widely available. You can find the full review here.
Maybelline – Collection – Rimmel – LA Girl – Catrice
Even though all 5 concealers are my favorites, they all look very different in the swatch. The first three are much closer to my skin tone than the other 2, yet all 5 match me oddly enough. The Collection and Maybelline ones are the most brightening as they have more of a pinky undertone. The LA Girl one is great at cancelling dark circles because of the peachy undertone. The Rimmel concealer looks very lightweight but still gives good coverage, definitely a good one on no make up days or when temperatures start to heat up. Lastly, the Catrice concealer is a great all rounder that gets the job done.
