It’s been ages since I last reviewed a mascara: nearly two years ago. The main reason for that? Because I haven’t found any mascaras that trumped my two favorites: Maybelline Falsies Flared and L’Oreal Butterfly False Lash Effect. Until now. Yes, I bought this for the hype. Yes, it is as good as everyone says. 
L’Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara
In case the name of this mascara doesn’t sound familiar: this is the European version of the ever so popular L’Oreal Lash Paradise mascara. The packaging is the same, they just changed the name for the European market. Here this mascara retails for €15.49. That is expensive, but most L’Oreal mascaras retail for similar prices. Luckily, L’Oreal and mascaras in general often are on offer, so there is no need to pay full price for this.
The Packaging 
One of the biggest appeals of this mascara is the packaging. It’s rose gold! Other than that the tube of this mascara is quite simple. I like how it comes in a cardboard box if you buy this from certain drugstores. It really gives the mascara something extra. I do have to say that I have never tried the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara that people often compare this to. So this review is really about the mascara of its own accord.
The Wand
What has everyone raving about this mascara is the wand. This thick bristled wand is one that does not appeal to me one bit. Looking at this the only thing I can think is: clumpy, spidery lashes. Yes this can get clumpy, but I find the effect of this mascara quite spectacular.
The only downside to this is that it dries out quite quickly. Where it ruins some mascaras, I find this only improves. It becomes thicker and with that clumpier, but I find it works well for a good few months. After a while I did pull out a lump of mascara the size of the wand, but after putting the wand back in, I haven’t had that problem again.
The Application
So why do I love this mascara so much? I hope these pictures show you why. On the left are my lashes with nothing on. My lashes are long and naturally quite curly, but they are blonde at the tips. So you can’t really see them very well without mascara. On the right are my lashes after using the L’Oreal Paradise Extatic mascara. The effect is volumized more so than lengthened, but that is what I like in a mascara. I also love how black this mascara is. It makes my lashes look so much fuller and it gives my eyes the definition I want them to have.
The Conclusion
So yes, I think it is clear why I love this mascara. It is a great addition to my mascara arsenal. I love how black it is and how it makes my lashes look. I am not too bothered by how quickly this dries out as I have been able to make it work for 2+ months. And I find that very acceptable for a mascara as I never use my mascaras past the 3 month mark. If you haven’t tried this yet, go out and get it!
