Brand Bites| Rimmel

Time for some drugstore products again! Unlike the previous two editions which featured Too Faced and Urban Decay, we are back in the drugstore. This time it’s Rimmel’s turn to shine. It is certainly a great brand, but since I had some bad experiences back in the 90s when this was still called Invite (who remembers that?!), I was late to start liking them. Hence I don’t have an awful lot of their product, but this little bunch does include some of my absolute favorites.

I mostly own Rimmel lipsticks. And nail polish, but I didn’t feature any other nail polishes in any of the other brand bites videos, so I am also not adding them now. Rimmel can be quite expensive over here (as are L’Oreal and Maybelline by the way), which means I mostly get my Rimmel products on sale or abroad. Another downside to the brand is the awful shade selection we get. I tried the Match Perfection foundation some years ago and all it did was make me look orange. But that can’t kill the fun, because Rimmel has some great products in their line. Here’s what I got:

Products mentioned:

  • Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude foundation 010 Light Porcelain
  • Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer 010 Ivory
  • Rimmel Match Perfection concealer 010 Ivory
  • Rimmel blush 020 Pink Rose
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes 130 Tribute
  • Rimmel Magnif’Eyes 002 Millionnaire
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes HD quad English Rose
  • Rimmel Glam Eyes Brixton Brown
  • Rimmel Scandal Eyes Kohl Kajal 013 Purple, 014 Bright Blue, 031 Jungle Green
  • Rimmel Provocalips Play with Fire & Kiss Me You Fool
  • Rimmel Kate lipsticks 08, 101, 111, 107
  • Rimmel The One lipstick 700 Naughty Nude
  • Rimmel Kate Nude lipstick 45

  1. I like their lipsticks. I’ve dabbled in various Rimmel items over the ages and the lipstick and concealer stood out to me. Mascaras were hit and miss. I wasn’t a fan of their powder products (eye shadow, powder, blush) – they were ok but nothing I’d recommend.

    1. I’m with you. Concealer and lipsticks are their bestsellers for a reason. I have never liked a single Rimmel mascara I’ve tried. I’m still curious to try their stay matte powder, but it seems heavy.
