Favorite sweaters & how I style them

It’s sweater weather and while I showed you a very sweater heavy haul last Sunday, I have a few favorites that I wear continuously. Of course these are all a little bit older, but I have worn these so much since getting them and that’s why they had to get their own, dedicated blog post. So without further ado: these are my 5 favorite sweaters and how I style them.  favorite sweaters and how I style them

Favorite sweaters

This first outfit features a mustard colored sweater from H&M. I found this online last year and I have worn it tons. It started my love for all things mustard and for some reason I find it flattering on. I love pairing mustard with other jewel tones. That is why I paired this with a pair of indigo denim by Topshop and a pair of navy sneakers. This is a very casual outfits, but I find that most sweaters make for fairly casual outfits anyway.

Outfit no. 2 features one of the oldest items in my wardrobe. I bought this from the Topshop on Oxford Street years ago and I loved it the minute I spotted it. It has a bouclé fabric and a contrast trim. This gives the sweater a sporty vibe and I love how you can dress this up or down. Here I’ve styled it with a fauxe suede petrol colored skirt by H&M and a pair of cut out boots by New Look.

I love adding a little bit of color to an outfit with a sweater. Burgundy and navy must be my favorite colors to do so and that is why this burgundy number couldn’t be missing from this overview. Sadly, this sweater got a little old and worn after wearing it last season so I had to declutter it. But luckily I already have a replacement for it. I love pairing a burgundy with a pair of grey ripped Jamie jeans by Topshop. To keep the color scheme going, I love wearing my burgundy Dr. Marten’s. These are the standard 1460s in the cherry red shade.

Another Topshop sweater that I love, but that I need to whip out more often is this seemingly grey sweater. But this isn’t grey. It’s pastel multicolors! And that’s why I love it. Up close this is a fun pastel colored sweater, while from a distance the colors blend together and it looks more neutral. Because of the crazy colors, I like to keep the rest of the outfit more simplistic. So a pair of neutral Nike Internationalists and a pair of acid wash Joni jeans is a great way to style this up.

My ultimate favorite sweater is this orange number that I mentioned in last Sunday’s palette. Orange is NOT my shade, but this somehow works. Which is why I opted for a brighter number in my most recent haul. This sweater doesn’t have the sleeve detail that has, but it has the fun fall colors. I did have to go in and sow back together some of the knit as it had come undone around the collar area. Luckily that was an easy chore to do. Paired with a black body con skirt and a pair of chunky Dr. Marten’s oxfords, this truly let’s the sweater do all the talking.
