This blog has been around for more than 5 years. It will be 6 come next September. Six years of almost always daily blogging, which means there are a lot of blog posts to come by on this space. I thought it would be fun to take a peek back in time and show you some of the more popular and some of my favorite blog posts that have gone up in that time period. Let’s take a trip down memory lane! Click the links to take you directly to the full blog post.
Who remembers this saucy number?

Back in 2013, I visited the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit with my mom. While there, I told my mom I could recreate some of the outfits we saw there and so I decided to do so… and blog about it! I recreated 3 different outfits with items from my own closet. It was also one of the first full length fashion posts I published on here. Ah the memories!
By far the most popular blog post on here is a duo of YSL lipsticks. I completely bought them on a whim at the semi-annual 40% discount a Dutch store has. It’s where I buy most of my high end lipsticks and for some reason these two lipsticks gave me more Google hits than I cared to think about when I first got this online back in 2014.

A review that is giving the YSL lipsticks a run for their money is my review of the Catrice Absolute Matt eyeshadow palette. I like to try new make up, be it high end, be it budget friendly. And so it’s good to see a budget blog post in my top 5 as well. I remember this being all the rage when it was released with many people not liking this. I tried to show that you can actually work with it if you give it a good try. And let’s be honest for a mere €4.99, I am more than willing to do that.

A much more recent post, but another one that seems to be a popular one is MAC Mehr and Soar Lip Pencil. Again, a complete whimsical buy. I had actually set foot in a MAC store dead set on buying Please Me. I tried it on and it looked hideous on me. The MUA had me try Mehr instead which I loved and by now Mehr seems to be one of those shades everybody is buying.

This entire post was instigated not by any of my fashion or make up blog posts. But by the fact that this old overview of English pronunciation tips suddenly kept popping up in my daily view counts. Back in the day, I would try to write about language a bit more. Me being a language teacher and all, I have plenty of knowledge to spill the beans on. Truth be told, blogs, especially the 500 – 1000 word type that I try to stick to, are not the best vehicle for a serious discussion on English linguistics. I found it hard to convey my messages in so few words (I usually spend 2 hours at a time talking about it, go figure 😉 ) and I slowly but surely phased them out. I did a few more casual language posts, but since I already deal with language so much on the job, I find I have little to no inspiration to write about it on here in my spare time. There are some things I just like to keep compartmentalized.

It’s always interesting to see how some posts get clicks every day and some don’t. Great post! 😊
Thank you!
