Lethal Cosmetics Palette 2 review

This is my second time roadtesting some Lethal Cosmetics eyeshadows. They have an ingenious palette building tool that let’s you design your own palette. I already made one last year and loved it so much that when they launched some new shades, I decided to build myself palette no. 2. I already filmed a palette bingo with this palette earlier this spring and today I am ready to do a full review of these shades as I have used all 12 shades.

Review: Lethal Cosmetics Build Your Own palette ft. Landfall & Skyward capsule collections

The palette building process on the Lethal Cosmetics website is super easy to do. You just drag and drop the shades in, put the palette in the basket and you can pay. A 12-pan palette will set you back €59.50 and you will have to pay for shipping or an extra shade to get free shipping as that starts at €60 or €65. Lethal Cosmetics is quite accessible to me as the brand is based in Germany. So if you live in Europe then you might really like this brand.

What does Lethal Cosmetics have to offer?

Personally I have only tried the eyeshadows from this brand but they also do some pretty highlighters and lipsticks. Since I mainly like trying eyeshadow, that is what I went with. Plus I was super inspired by a lot of the eyeshadows they do. Their palette builder is super easy to use, but since my review for the first palette, the brand has also come out with a premade palette and also the opportunity to create smaller color stories.

What shades did I select?

The shades I bought are as follows:

• Stargaze – Altitude – Rebirth – Imago
• Yonder – Mirage – Descent – Insomnia
• Eden – Surge – Terminus – Trespass

I created the palette by taking their two capsule collection that launched during fall last year: the landfall and skyward collections. I simply took out the shades that weren’t up to my liking and replaced it with other shades from the range. I ended up replacing four of the shades: Celestial, Pilgrim, Crossroads and Midway which were all shades that I felt I already owned a million times over or were a bit boring in the palette overall. I replaced those shades with a purple and some mattes and shimmers that I felt would round out the palette more for what I was going for: a grungy palette that could complement the bright shade selection of my first lethal cosmetics palette.

How do these shadows swatch?

Perhaps you already saw my Lethal Cosmetics swatch party that I posted last week, but I thought I could show you the closeups here as well. As you can see there is one extra shade: that grey to the left would be Rise From the Ashes which is an extra shade I bought to get free shipping and to round off my custom cool toned palette with which I filmed 3 different looks last week. As you can see these shades all swatch very well. Lethal only does two types of eyeshadows: mattes and metallics which doesn’t make for a ton of variety in shades, but still enough to make it work.

4 Looks, 1 Palette

The first look I want to share with you is the look I created in my Palette Bingo video. So you can see how I created this look in that video if you want. I got some random shades that definitely threw me for a loop, but I think I managed in the end. I think the other three looks I did, sticking to the different shade families in the palette definitely worked a little bit better.

For my first look I went in with the blues and greens in the palette. This is just a mix of Yonder in the crease, Eden on the lower lash line and in the Outer V and Mirage all over the lid. Super easy and I just whacked my highlighter into the inner corner. In short, a quick and easy look and due to the green shades not too standard but still wearable for everyday.

After the blue/ green look I decided to work with some of the brighter and grungy shades in this look. I put Insomnia that grungy blue in the crease with Descent all over the lid. Stargaze is on the lower lash line and I used Surge on the edge. To finish off the look I used a bit of Altitude in the inner corner. I love how the blues and purples play off each other. It’s cool toned, but also has a bit of warmth to it.

And then we just had the berries left. And we all know I love a berry look for the fall time and these berries tickle that exact itch. Rebirth is just a stunning shimmer that works well all over the lid. Imago and Terminus make for a great crease shade and Trespass works so well for deepening things up. I can’t wait to pair these berries with the purples and that grungy blue.

My final thoughts

How do I feel about these Lethal Cosmetics shadows now that I have tried them all? I really love these shades. The undertones make these shades a little bit differently from most shadows in my collection and I think these shades can nicely complement the other Lethal Cosmetics shades I already own. This palette does also work well as a standalone and I love how this all plays together.

Would I recommend the Lethal Cosmetics build your own eyeshadow palette?

I already recommended these the first time round and I will say it again: Lethal Cosmetics is a European indie brand that is worth looking into. Their tool to build the palette is super handy and I feel their shadows have a great quality to them. I do think the brand can expand more in the cool toned range because everything they do is either very colorful or super warm toned. I would love to see them come out with some great taupy shades and then I will be sure to create my third Lethal Cosmetics palette.
